Using D+5 is also not realistic in light of current party registration trends and figures. Party affiliation is now almost equal between Democrats and Republicans, with (if I'm not mistaken) an increase in Independents as well. Since the start of the 0bama-nation, there has been a steady increase in Republican registrations, and a corresponding decrease in Democrat.
Thus, if these polls were re-calibrated in light of objective reality (party split and enthusiasm), it's clear that Trump's support is significantly understated. Given Trump's strong advantage with Independents, any increase in the proportion of Independent voters also bodes well for him.
The Media and Establishment (but I repeat myself) are painting the rosiest picture imaginable for Hillary.
One tactic they constantly use is to continue citing an old poll (or use the RCP average) that favors Hillary, even though there are newer polls which favor Donald Trump. It's SOP for these propagandists, including Faux News.
There is also mounting evidence that the Trump candidacy is bringing out lots of brand new voters, as well as those who have been historically inactive for many cycles.
The Establishment's desperate attempt to prop up Hillary couldn't be more transparent. Trump supporters and many independent voters are becoming increasingly aware of this, and they're going to be furious "very enthusiastic" by the time November 8 arrives.

The perception or visuals of whoever has the lead after labor day wins the race. That means that the media is doing everything they can to push the most horrific destructive killer of Americanism ever in the history of the USA down our throats! the beast will be the one who will drive the last stake through the heart of America! Sad to say that I’ve been feeling this for quite some time .... Our country is in cardiac arrest mode and the end is almost near ... The America we once knew and grew up in no longer exist! The Liberals destroy this nation quite some time ago, while the majority of Americans twiddle their thumbs ....it would be very difficult to bring back to life patriotism, nationalism and Valorism and a God-fearing country! All of these have been destroyed and we can never get them back! ONLY by God’s mercy can this COUNRTY survive another communist dictator!

According to his actual policies, pro-liberal opinions, & anti-First Amendment attitudes, Johnson belongs on Jezebel Clinton’s staff.

That does seem to be a consistent figure. Granted there are four candidates but the fact that the incumbent party is in the low 40’s (and high 30’s in a few cases) does seem to indicate a Hillary weakness.

If they are oversampling Dems by 5, He’s up about 3 if you adjust it to more realistic registration models.
