This article just ended up in my “inbox” this morning (I subscribed). The administration is poo-pooing the huge Obamacare premium rate increases by claiming that most of the enrollees are protected by subsidies. Turns out that is not true (I am shocked that they lied again .... NOT).
HALF of enrollees do not get a subsidy. Trump should be campaigning on this now that there is data to back it up - these folks being burned by Obamacare should be voting Trump:
Detailed Obamacare Blue Cross Enrollment—About Half the Enrollment Doesn’t Get a Subsidy!

Fortunately, obamacare has been too bad, the socialists actually over-achieved on something (well, they over achieved on failure, so I guess that's not surprising). obamacare has been so bad there simply aren't that many people in it. There's no massive outcry for a government solution. Instead, people are looking at 69 and realizing that yes, this would give Colorado the highest State tax rate in the nation. Yeah, jumping Colorado from something like number 12 on the list (only 11 States with lower taxes, 38 with higher) to number 50 - highest effective tax rate in the Nation.
It passes, I'll leave Colorado. That's not an empty threat. My company has offices all across the Country. I've already been seriously considering leaving CO for other reasons. This would very easily be the straw that broke the camel's back.
But, everyone gets free choom!
I think if they were in favor of this it would be accepting that socialized medicine is the way to go. Rejecting it is the admission that Obamacare is a failure. Because this is nothing more than Obamacare version 2.0, but state run instead of nationally run.
Give it another decade at most and it will pass easily.
“Among all respondents, 27% would vote yes and approve the amendment, 65% would vote no and reject it”
Good. I REALLY don’t want to have to move to another state.
“We believe the amendment asks too much from Colorado voters by asking them to raise their state income tax by 10%”
Nope. Colorado income tax wouldn’t increase by 10%, it would increased by 215%! The current Colorado income tax rate is 4.63%; the NEW Colorado income tax rate would be 14.63% if this insanity passes.
