The Ultimate Good Cop/Bad Cop Playing Out? Valerie Jarrett Lying In The Shadows?
Vanity | 9/5/16 | LRoggy

Many years ago Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote a Sherlock Holmes Memoir that included a series of short stories. One of those was entitled “Silver Blaze”, where the great detective ended up solving the mystery because ‘the dog didn’t bark’. In effect, the ABSENCE of a presence or reaction was used to solve the crime.

Sometimes politics makes for strange bedfellows as the old saying goes and anyone who has read the Edward Klein books over the past decade knows three themes that he continually harps on:

• The Clintons and the Obamas do not like each other

• The desire by both to run the Democratic Party is a continual battle

• Valerie Jarrett is the true power behind the throne

Yet when it looked like the DNC had arranged to work for Hillary’s nomination it had to at least have the blessing of the Obama supporters, tacitly if not overtly. In retrospect, the Obama Administration must be kicking itself that Joe Biden decided to not run as that would have had a 2 for 1 if he had gotten the nomination . . . a continuation of the Obama policies (if Joe was elected) without major change, and the final nail in the coffin of the Clinton influence on the Party. It would also have allowed the Obama Justice Department to distance itself from the Clintons and by allowing a prosecution to proceed would have likely generated a lot of long term good for the Party by showing they were open to going after their own where justified.

There was not a lot of faith within the Obama loyalists that Bernie Sanders would play ball with them and would likely have been a less likely election winner so the decision was made that they would support the Clinton nomination, given that they could always hold the issue of criminal investigation over her head.

Which brings up how interesting things have gotten since James Comey decided to play ball with his boss in the Justice Department, instead of becoming this era’s version of Elliot Richardson, who became infamous in his day for not going along with the Nixon loyalists when it came to Watergate.

Common belief is that he was basically instructed to not file a criminal referral by the Justice Department and that Hillary was not able to be touched legally. That has led to Clinton loyalists to be able to go out in public and try their best to convince both voters and the media (which did not need much pushing) that there was ‘no fire, just a lot of smoke’ and to try to insinuate that the so-called scandal was now over.

Or so they thought.

One of the more fascinating facets of the last month has been the utter lack of campaigning by either the candidate herself or the campaign’s surrogates . . . the big dog himself has been quiet, Biden has made a token appearance, the Obamas are on vacation and then in China. Hillary is laying low. Many are calling it the ‘run out the clock strategy’.

A better way to put it is ‘don’t get linked to her if she blows this again, just like she blew it in 2008’.

The Dog isn’t barking . . . they’ve seen this routine before. In 2008.

Or there could be an even more interesting reason to how the Dems are playing this right now.

Remember, in one of Klein’s books Bill actually brings up to Hillary about being able to run a campaign given her health . . . and how offended she was at the thought. Like becoming the first female president was more important than the good of the country.

Sometimes the simplest reason is the right answer, sometimes it isn’t.

This looks to be one of those times where both are poised to play out and we won’t know which until after the fact.

Right now this looks like Valerie Jarrett’s play. To ensure that the Obamas, AND HER, end up with long term control of the Party. The first step was the elimination of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz from the Party leadership. It’s easy to blame hackers on the release of the DNC emails. But Ms. Jarrett, as the long term consigliere for the Obamas, had to be furious with the way that Wasserman-Schultz was interfering in the primary. I’m sure she was wired in to the emails too and there’s no reason to count her out as a controller of released material when it suited the long term agenda of Obama/Jarrett control of the Party.

No reason why Jarrett wouldn’t go through surrogates to leak info damaging enough to Hillary that the media had to take notice while not ruining Hillary’s ability to win the election. That was a play for good will between the Obamas and the Sanders voters while firing a shot across the bow at the Clinton loyalists.

Now we are in the more complicated phase. The easy stuff is done with the Party being run temporarily by Donna Brazile, who has good relations with both sides of the Party, but doesn’t want to be the full time solution going forward.

Fans of Machiavelli will certainly be wise to study this time period in detail in the future.

Here’s the possibilities:

1. The Obama team knows what the hackers have and are laying low pending the outcome of the election. Comey is playing along because he really did want to prosecute but didn’t want to go it alone.

2. The Obama team does not know what is in the emails and has decided to not try to get out in front of the story because it does not need to. We know Assange has already declared he has more damaging stuff, but in his own words he does not know if the final releases will be permanently damaging due to the media not playing fair. Those were his own words when interviewed on Fox News about 10 days ago.

If the first scenario is true . . . if Clinton wins a tight election the Obamas can effectively blackmail her into continuing their policies. Play ball or we send out the final nail in the coffin. Tim Kaine will play along with us since he’s a minor player and not the type to fight us. And we end up controlling the Party for a long time. The odds of HRC serving two terms is almost nil.

Clearly a Valerie Jarrett type of approach.

But imagine if Hillary blows it again . . . to Donald Trump of all people.

What goodwill would be left in the Party for the Clintons if that happens?

None.

And then the final act plays out.

Between November and the January transition Valerie Jarrett and the Obama give the okay to Attorney General Lynch to go ahead and announce a pending RICO criminal investigation of the Clinton Foundation. Go for it all. Comey leads the investigation (think President Trump would remove him as FBI head? Not likely) and the end target being the complete disruption and destruction of the Clinton influence in the Party, leaving the Obama team as the default leaders going forward.

It doesn’t even have to be a successful prosecution. It just has to take a lot of time and cause a huge legal bill to the Clintons. Given their collective health the case might not even be completed with them alive. So what? Mission accomplished. Valerie Jarrett, Michelle Obama and a helping Barack become THE power brokers of the Democratic Party for a long time to come.

And not only destroy the Clinton reputation forever but take out their loyalists. And possibly even bankrupt them all too via legal fees and RICO fines. After a loss to Trump there will be no reason at all for anyone to step up and finance the Clintons or there foundation ever again.

Heck, we might even see a Huma-Weiner divorce so brutal it could rival the OJ trial for crass entertainment.

Anyone really think the Obamas aren’t willing to lose one election to get control of the Party?

Do you really believe Democrats want anything more from the Obamas?

Do Democrats have control over the Obama/Soros/Islamic agenda? Which Democrats? The Clintons? The DNC? The voters?

The Westerner :" Mrs. O has changed her appearance since January. She has softened her makeup and even decided to wear more feminine dresses.
She changed her harsh tone as well.
I’ve wondered since Jan. if Mrs. O. would be an electable President if Hillary somehow fails."

Killery started the rhetoric, appealing to the feminists, about voting for her ' because it's time to elect a woman',
as though sexual gonads were now the qualification for election to the highest office in the nation.
She single-handedly began the language of sexuality as a qualification, not qualifications, not training, not experience, etc.
Standing in the wings of the demorat party is Mrs. O, enjoying her celebrity status,
and who may be willing to run as an alternative candidate in the absence of anyone else being immediately available.

Well thought out, LR. It's easy to get caught up in other angles
to this most fascinating election, but your thesis that it is ultimately
for control of the party is good to keep in mind. An election is 4 years,
but party control is perpetual.

Rather like General Joe Stilwell's disgust that our supplies to
Chiang Kai-Shek were not being used against the Japanese, but
against Mao's Red Army, for that was the battle that was really
important to Chiang.

“Silver Blaze” is Snoopy’s favorite Sherlock Holmes story.

“She still looks like Alice the Goon.”

LOL! I never really understood Alice, but I sort of liked her. I never liked Moochele.

And Hillary’s cough returns, no wonder she can’t do a presser, only phony TV appearances where she gets the questions in advance and the “show” can be edited before broadcast.

Agreed. I avoid letting my kids seeing new cartoon. I feed my eight year old lots of Popeye. This one is a wonderfully violent cartoon.

Agree..I even had the ‘scenario’ a few years ago.

BO-Since I can’t run again, the ONLY way we can keep on track is to have My Dear Wife, run and I will only be a step away and ensure our work is completed.

They have probably surmised that HRC just wasted time in running for Senate, figuring under the above scenario, HRC would have won in a landslide as Wee Willies successor.

Don’t laugh all that hard at that, look how close we came to having algore.....

You are absolutely correct, she did have a crush on the sailor man. It’s been many moons since I last saw the Goons. I think I’d better go borrow my sister’s Popeye collection.
