WASHINGTON (NBC) - Republican Vice Presidential candidate Mike Pence reacted to the FBI's notes on its interview with Hillary Clinton by calling her "the most dishonest candidate for President of the United States since Richard Nixon" in an exclusive interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"It is a tough charge," Pence conceded when pressed, "But, come on."
The Indiana governor continued, "What's evident from all of the revelations over the last several weeks is that Hillary Clinton operated in such a way to keep her emails, and particularly her interactions while Secretary of State with the Clinton Foundation, out of the public reach, out of public accountability."
All of the revelations regarding Clinton's use of private email, according to Pence, "truly does disqualify her from serving as President of the United States."
While Clinton battles accusations of secrecy and wrongdoing, the Trump campaign also has questions to answer on the issue of transparency.
Neither Donald Trump nor Mike Pence have released their tax returns - but Pence says that will change soon.
"Donald Trump and I are both going to release our tax returns," Pence pledged. "I'll release mine in the next week."
Pence, however, wouldn't commit to a timeline on when Trump's returns would come out: "Donald Trump will be releasing his tax returns at the completion of an audit."
Pressed on if that would be before November's election, Pence replied, "Well, we'll see."
Nixon resonates. Education trashes Nixon, so the indoctrinated can make the connection. This is war.
No, she is the most dishonest candidate since the other Clinton. It was his mendacity coupled with the Democrat party’s support of him that made me finally realize that there is no way I can ever again, in good conscience, vote for a Democrat.
Nixon was a boy scout next to either Clinton.
The fact that the Democrats routinely put forth the most dishonest and corrupt candidates tells me that everything I was taught about liberalism, growing up in a liberal family, was a lie.
Richard Nixon was an amateur liar compared to hilLIARy Clinton
Hillary is far, far worse than Nixon along any criteria: honesty, ability, mental stability, accomplishments, etc.
Rather than put the country through impeachment proceedings and the trauma of airing out all the crimes, Nixon chose to resign and be prosecuted at the will of the people. Lucky for him Ford gave him a pardon/get out of jail free card and kept the country from destroying itself. Unlike Clinton, Clinton chose to use lie after lie and coverup until he was caught like a deer in headlights. If it hadn’t been for pussies like Trent Lott, Fred Thompson, and other Republicans, Clinton would have been removed and Gore would have screwed the pooch once he got his mittens on the wheel.
You mean Nixon the liberal Republican? I should hope not
Yeah, the undecided voter knows nothing, so you gotta appeal to them.
Pretty stupid thing to say. Pence better not stray too far off the reservation lest he sink both of them.
Lets not forget officially removing us from Gold.
Nor the lies and hatred promoted by the Muslim Marxist, who, by the way, is in league with the Clinton Crime family. Nixon was a saint by comparison, no worse than Kennedy and not as sneaky as FDR.
Whoa...
I had no idea he said that. Yikes.
Hillary, Bill, Obama and Kerry are more dishonest than Nixon.
Nixon wasn’t perfect, but this statement implies he was a bigger liar then she is.
Wow.
You’ve got to be a real special kind of stupid to think any president was a bigger liar, criminal, traitor, than Hillary Clinton.
(not giving you a hard time Digger48)
illary makes Richard Nixon look like a Boy Scout
The Beast makes what Nixon did look like a parking ticket.
When Nixon’s mis-deeds were brought to light, Republican leaders like Barry Goldwater called for his resignation. Are any Democrats calling for Hillary to resign?
What did Nixon lie about besides Watergate?
Exactly. So why is Pence perpetuating it?
You must be young, suffering from our poor educational system. Nixon was a fighter, very talented, relentless, never quitting, hard working, and, with tragic flaws. He was his own man.
