After some thinking I’ve decided that my “stand” on illegal immigration is not quite written in stone.

For while I assert that my lawn guy Beelow should not be directly deported along with his American-born son....it’s really more I don’t THINK that’s going to happen.

Because if Beelow and his son and his entire family were to be summarily sent back to Ecuador as Trump says (which he does not, more on this later) you’ll not see me out on the street fighting to re-import Beelow, son and/or any of his family.

He had enough time to know what was going down, to know that sooner or later the hatchet would fall. Seems to me he could have gotten LEGAL citizenship, as could many of these illegals.

My point being you pick your battles and fighting for Beelow and any other illegal is not my battle. I do not think, however, that it’s going to happen that way.

There will be law-abiding and hard-working illegals who need desperate medical care and this will make good copy. There will be cutie pies like little Jaden who will lose much needed schooling.

I don’t know the cause and I’ve said often I don’t know the cure. But if I were to wake up a week after Trump’s election and discover that all the illegals, including Beelow, had been successfully deported, I’d be okay with that.

I just don’t think it’s going to happen.

And on that note, I watched Kelly, Trump’s new campaign manager on an interview somewhere today.

I will paraphrase her: “Once we build a wall so that nobody can just walk over the border, once we make E-verify a requirement, once we deport all criminals here illegally, once we determine who was born here and who not....well after all that we can sit back and look at our options.”

That’s pretty vague because she knows that no way, no how, are the Beelows and Jadens of the world going to be directly deported.

I still think MY way is how it will go down.

If you and Hillary have your way, Beelow and all his fellow lawbreakers will stay and become Dem voters. They will legally become competitors with American citizens for jobs and they will use the welfare system to a much greater degree than the native born. They will then bring in tens of millions of their relatives. Twas a great victory.

I have lunch every Friday with a bi-partisan group of present and former politicos, lawyers, business men, etc. The topic of immigration came up and they started in with "how hard working these people are" and etc.etc.

I made my argument.

It goes like this:

There are approximately eight billion people in the world. About half would come to the U.S. if we let them all in. Who do we let in?

Do we keep the borders open and let anyone who can cross become a citizen as long as they look like they might vote democrat.

Is that about as racist/illegal as you can get? Does that even get close to present laws on the books? Not hardly.

Presently we are top heavy with Central and South Americans coming across in big numbers. In Central America and many parts of South America there is war strife, poverty and many make a case for bringing them here. Problem is the same can be said for Africa, the mid-east and many other ares of the world.Do we bring all of them here? who gets in who do we discriminate against?

Many savage welfare systems to the point where we can't afford it anymore.

If we let in mostly Asians they would be self sufficient for the most part not savage the welfare system and many would graduate from college.

But why are we taking in anyone when we have almost 100 million who have stopped looking for work?

Or should we fashion an orderly system when we are able to take in more immigrants according to the laws of the country.

Everyone pretty much shut up.

There's not too much of an argument to be made for picking and choosing by whomever can get here. That's hardly what the country was founded on.
