Clinton: US should use 'military response' to fight cyberattacks from Russia and China

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party presidential nominee and former US secretary of state, has said that if she becomes president cyberattacks against US interests will be treated "like any other attack" – and that includes military action.

The candidate, who has been investigated by the FBI over use of a private email server to store classified material, was speaking on the campaign trial at the American Legion National Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio on 31 August.

As President, I will make it clear that the United States will treat cyberattacks just like any other attack. We will be ready with serious political, economic, and military responses," she told the attendees, largely made up of veterans and their supporters.

"We are going to invest in protecting our governmental networks and our national infrastructure," she continued. "I want us to lead the world in setting the rules in cyberspace. If America doesn't, others will."

The speech made a number of references to the rise in cybercrime – and the various rival nation states that Clinton asserted are currently attacking the US. Most recently, Kremlin-linked hackers were suspected of hacking into the computer networks of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

"We need to respond to evolving threats from states like Russia, China, Iran and North Korea," Clinton said in the speech. "We need a military that is ready and agile so it can meet the full range of threats and operate on short notice across every domain – not just land, sea, air and space but also cyberspace.

"You've seen reports. Russia's hacked into a lot of things, China has hacked into a lot of things. Russia even hacked into the Democratic National Committee, maybe even some state election systems. So we have got to step up our game. Make sure we are well defended and able to take the fight to those who go after us."

As tensions between superpowers continues to escalate over cybercrime and cyber-espionage, US officials have remained uncertain about how to classify these security incidents – especially when a major computer infiltration crossed the line into an 'act of war'.

Wagging the dog. She wants to go to war with nuclear power Russia over her own stupidity in setting home brew server?

Tough talk on cyber security from a woman who transferred top secret information to her private server

Democrats have suddenly gotten religion on data security and cyber espionage

Wonder why

So... Russia or China hacks into DNC or Hillary’s computers, and she will order bombing missions on Moscow or Beijing?

Well, I suppose that destabilizing the Middle East and allowing the rise of ISIS is a hard act to follow.

(And the media and DNC are doing their best to convince us that Trump is even more unstable than Hillary. Yeah, right.)

Pander, pander, pander to what she believes her current audience wants to hear.

As in, “Why yes, my health is great!. Watch me open this jar of pickles!”

Does she really believe that her listeners are that stupid?

(well, after looking a photos of the breathless coeds at bills & her campaign rallies, maybe she has a point. And don’t forget the “We are your children” guy at the town hall meeting for Bill.)

Is it not odd that Hillary Clinton, who could not or did not protect her own assets from cyber attack, would want to go to war.

This is scary coming from a person who failed the Bar Exam in Washington, D. C.

All this time I thought that you can protect yourself from cyber attacks by means of precautions, and diligent use of your own assets and software.

Of course we want to hand over control of the Internet to the UN and other untrustworthy foreigners. And then go to war with Russia or China because we think that they probably waged a cyber attack on us. Is this insanity or plain stupidity?

Rather that call her “Crooked” Hillary, Trump should start calling her “Unstable” Hillary. She is obviously mentally unstable.

I have a good idea...let’s treat treasonous holders of public office like the traitors they are when they deliberately violate security protection of our nation’s most classified materials. Lock her up and, if they only would, throw away the key.

Liberalism is a mental disease.

These folks aren’t the brightest bulbs in the room. They are front men. Puppets for the Soros types.

Hillary failed the D.C. bar. Georgetown has a 90%+ passage rate currently, but she failed that bar and had to move back to Arkansas.

Michelle Obama was told to give up her bar license or face disbarment procedures. She has no law license now. BHO doesn’t have a bar license either.

JFK Jr. failed the bar multiple times.

They just aren’t that bright.

I watched the documentary WEINER a while back. Huma, instead of being a scheming genius, came across as a clueless political hack dolt.

Hillary did the equivalent of leaving a Mercedes running with the car keys in it in a bad neighborhood while she stepped into a store for a beer.

She put top secret info on an non-secured server and everyone knew about it. She did it to avoid Freedom of Information Requests so she could hide her SoS emails.

THAT was the problem. Not Russia or China. Her own incompetence.

DNC was most likely hacked by a disgruntled Bernie fan like the staffer who was shot and killed (not robbed) a few weeks back.

“”We are going to invest in protecting our governmental networks and our national infrastructure,” she continued. “I want us to lead the world in setting the rules in cyberspace. If America doesn’t, others will.” “

She ought to be asked in the debates if she is against Obama & his minions on this

Putin is the perfect bad guy. Russians are white, Christian.

Not that Putin isn’t thuggish. But it’s getting absurd.

Clinton’s own incompetence is what expose her - and America - to great risk. She had a secure path to follow. She didn’t do it for ‘convenience’ or ‘one device’ or anything other than wanting to hide her schemes from public scrutiny.
