Professors advise students to drop class if they question climate change

DENVER — The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs is coming under fire after three professors warned their class that there would be no debate on human-caused climate change and that any students who disagree should drop the course.

The professors, who are team-teaching the fall online course Medical Humanities in the Digital Age, issued the memo after some students expressed concerns about the first online lecture on climate change, according to the College Fix, which obtained a copy of the email.

“The point of departure for this course is based on the scientific premise that human induced climate change is valid and occurring,” said the professors. “We will not, at any time, debate the science of climate change, nor will the ‘other side’ of the climate change debate be taught or discussed in this course.”

“Opening up a debate that 98% of climate scientists unequivocally agree to be a nondebate would detract from the central concerns of environment and health addressed in this course,” they added.

For those who disagree with the course’s premise, “we respectfully ask that you do not take this course, as there are options within the Humanities program for face to face this semester and online next.”

98% of climate scientists agree that global warming in man made

The sample was trimmed until it gave the results the 'researchers' desired.

The environmental group Conservation Colorado defended the professors in a Thursday post on Twitter, saying, “#Climatechange: Not up for debate @UCCS. I dig it. If 98% of scientists agree on something, it’s not a debate!”

One does not have to go very far in history to find a 98% WRONG belief. No one, from the time of the first accurate world maps, could argue that the coastlines of South America and Africa had an amazing alignment. Yet no one could think of a mechanism which would account for a prior joining of the two.

Just a century ago, a German meteorologist & geophysicist, Alfred Wegener, postulated that continents do drift and cited not just shape but geologic formations and fossil spreads as proof. A generation later, you would have found that close to 99% of geologists, geophysicists and other EXPERTS in that field would have stated that his theory was bunk! Their reasoning was sound science, Wegener had cited valid facts but could not specify a mechanism for the drift.

It took until the 1950s before more developed science got the start on sea-floor spreading and then plate tectonics before Wegener's continental drift mechanism was accepted. I remember reading a geology textbook in the late 60s that mentioned Wegener but only as speculation.

98% is always subject to debate!

Unless the course is a “required to graduate” course, there are a gazillion others one SHOULD take. Once students grow up to the fact the climate change is NO LONGER a course needed, said professors can look to teach some other course.

No, it was Rosanna.

I can't help you further. Just do a youtube search. Emily Litella was Radner's "never mind" lady.
