Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump had not even left yet for his visit to Mexico on Wednesday morning when the mainstream media began declaring it a failure.
Politico’s Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman, for example, wrote in their morning “Playbook” email:
TRUMP TO MEXICO — We know that the Mexican government is not interested in paying for Donald Trump’s wall.
The New York Times also did its best, reporting Trump’s impending visit under the headline: “Donald Trump to Visit Mexico After More Than a Year of Mocking It.” The Times added that the visit was the “latest gamble for Mr. Trump and his struggling campaign.”
Trump shocked the political world by announcing the visit on Tuesday night — less than 24 hours ahead of his immigration speech in Arizona.
Though the visit has political risks — President Nieto could try to embarrass him, and Trump could make rhetorical mistakes — the fact that it is happening at all is unquestionably a coup for the Republican nominee. It undercuts Hillary Clinton’s attempt to portray Trump as a toxic racist, and also shows Trump looking the part of a president.
The media clearly understand that, and are determined to undermine Trump as they did Mitt Romney in 2012.
They are already trying to do the same with Trump, and are clearly eager to reassure the public that Hillary Clinton, too, will have her turn to meet the Mexican president.
There is only one problem: she has already been to Mexico, and embarrassed herself. In 2009, for example, as the newly-installed Secretary of State, she used a visit to blame American guns for violence in Mexico, setting up Operation Fast and Furious, which ended in the death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Mexico is smart—Make a deal now with Trump. A positive effect could put him in the White House. No paid demonstrators in Mexico City. Dangers do exist—Cartels have a death warrant out on Trump. BUT, A deal with Mexico could help both the faltering Mexican Republic and the US border problems. Trump can turn this to his advantage—but it will take all of his deal making skills. Interesting development.
The Mexican president INVITED both Trump and Clinton to visit Trump immediately accepted; Clinton was too busy (or too tired).

Sounds like a coordinated setup with the MSM and Mexico. Lets see if the Mexicans make the meeting a failure or not.

In my opinion Clinton can’t leave the US because her health situation would be totally exposed by the non-US media. The Clintons and Democrats have no leverage over the foreign press.
My thoughts to. I have a good feeling they know her health is awful and are trying to rest her as much as possible for the debates. That is the reason why she could not come south for the floods too.
Maybe, just maybe Nieto admires Trump for his desire for “sovereignty”. Mexico needs to worry about globalism just as we do. WHO knows what is really going to be discussed. Love that Sessions is going. Bet Nieto hates Obama and does NOT want Clinton as President. What a great move by Trump, again.

Exactly. If I moved there I would not be allowed to buy waterfront property. If the Hilton moved there they do NOT own water front property. If I moved there I’d have to pay the local Police (or whatever they are) for law enforcement PLUS, I’d have to pay for taxes. If you ever go down there and get pulled over by the Police (or whatever they call them), NEVER hand them your DL, registration or Rental Car Contract. They took a rental car from me but Discover told them ‘F you.’.
