Donald Trump is considering jetting to Mexico City on Wednesday for a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, just hours before he delivers a high-stakes speech in Arizona to clarify his views on immigration policy, according to people in the United States and Mexico familiar with the discussions.
The possibility, which was hatched in recent days by Trump and his campaign advisers, comes after Trump has wavered for weeks on whether he would continue to hold his hard-line positions on the central and incendiary issue of his campaign, in particular his call to deport an estimated 11 million immigrants who are living in the United States illegally.
The people informed of Trump’s plans spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity surrounding the matter. They said late Tuesday that talks between the Trump campaign and Mexican officials were ongoing, with Trump interested in going but logistics and security concerns still being sorted out.
Peña Nieto has extended an invitation for the businessman to visit him in Mexico to talk about various political and economic issues, the people said. Trump, sensing an opportunity, decided over the weekend to accept the invitation and push for a visit this week.

Well since Trump is doing an immigration speech in Arizona, I guess once he’s done he can just cross over the border..I hope he has extra security Mexico is a mess the cartels want him dead..prayers for his safety

You got that right! It’s a creative idea and makes Trump look presidential (as he already is the de-facto President anyway).
BUT!!!! It’s just too complicated to ensure his safety in the squalor of Mexico. You’d need a small army of Special Forces. They could take out his jet on takeoff. No WAY Jose!
Instead, invite him to stay at a Trump resort and meet at Trump Tower.
The invitation was extended to Trump. The invitee doesn’t tell the host who invited Trump to come to him.
Trump has all the cards here. He can ask for whatever he wants and probably get it. It's no longer a matter of if Trump wins or not. Even if he loses it's going to be close, and he has clearly identified immigration as a voter mobilizing issue that other Republicans will pick up in the future.
Same with trade. Before Trump, job moving to Mexico wasn't on the radar. Mexico's trade surplus will be an issue from now on.

No, it’s not how it works in this case here and most other cases. You’ll have to deal with that.
Pence would not win. Trump has a fulltime job keeping the media at bay by timely responding to their attacks through social media. Imagine if the media were allowed to attack him without fear of his response.
They would eventually wear down enough of his supporters so that Pence wouldn’t come close.
Regardless, it looks like Trump is going to Mexico. I hope his security guys are on high alert because the Mexican Drug Cartel and the Clinton Cartel are both looking for an opportunity

If Trump is killed a lot of people will assume that Hillary is behind it and respond accordingly.
Right and Trump will be in his natural element. Gets hear what Nieto wants and size him up.
