It will likely slow her down a bit.
Good. Animals should be treated as property. Property must be managed, but they do not have rights. As long as the hunt is legal, hunt away. I personally don’t want to deal with the mess, but if you want to hunt for food, recreation, or just for thrills, fire away. Your right as man.
If she feels like this is something that builds her up, I imagine that she is going to continue to do it.
It isn’t something that builds me up. I would let the giraffe live and admire it.
The girl doesn’t impress me at all.
The conservation is the deal here - as long as it’s working, the natives make a lot of money as guides and support personnel.
I don’t think many critters can eat a giraffe, though.
You can kill them all day and no one will get excited about it.
What business is it of the London Mirror or any American for that matter what these sovereign countries allow to be hunted. In the US, you can hunt bear, elk, cougar, moose, etc. And we don’t care what England or Africans think about it.
I don’t have a problem with hunting. And I don’t know squat about this girl, so I keep in mind the media may well be portraying her a certain way to fit their liberal template.
That said, if this is something this girl is doing to show “she can do everything a guy can do”, then I abhor it.
Again, I hold out the possibility this liberal media piece could be shaping her experience and dialogue to fit their purposes, but if they aren’t, I don’t like it. She sounds like she has no respect for what she is killing.
But it is important to keep in mind the account as it is relayed, with passages such as “...Each year thousands of Americans pay millions of dollars to fulfil their bloodlust on the plains of Africa...” and “...In one sick picture she can be seen holding the giraffes heart...”
They obviously have an agenda. But the girl and her father aren’t helping themselves if that is the case, they are just playing into their hands.
Killing for sport is creepy, but hunt, and eat what you kill is cool.
It’s amazing, and heart breaking to me, to see the angst people can gin up over critters, from pets to wild animals. But if you’d ask them to join you in opposing abortions and saving unborn children, the’d spit in your face.
Too many of any animal is not good, it brings disease and starvation. Culling is unfortunately a necessary evil, so to speak, but it must be done.
Huffpo comments mostly, here.
Steaks, roasts, jerky, YUM! Good for her!! I wish more people hunted. They’d most likely have a healthier respect for all life. We all die the same, but people who don’t hunt, are shielded from the realities of life and death.
I had a family member once who liked to hunt. I made him help clean his kill, and showed him how to prepare it for cooking. He never hunted again. He lost his enjoyment.
That packaged chicken, that packaged steak, that packaged turkey..it died to feed you. It’s ALL the same. It’s food.
It had to be killed, gutted, skinned or plucked, hung dripped and bled. The only difference is the size of the critter. The cellophane wrapper doesn’t make it any less once alive, eating, and rolling in the grass.
Articles such as the OP are disgusting, and fail to respect life. It had one message and one only...People who kill for meat are bad. What a useless article.
I could tell by the title it was either a Mirror or Daily Mail article.
No problem with hunting, but this is kinda weird. And her stepping on the giraffe like she defeated it in single combat. Lame.
Maybe I’m just remembering an era where cutesy dressed girls weren’t always doing things boys normally do.
Indeed
Bring down your game mano a mano with a knife and I’ll be impressed. Have two hunters hunt each other. Now you got a contest. We could have them do it in stadiums in Las Vegas. Get the odds where they should be- 50/50.
Nah, this article isn’t biased... “Gunned down?” sheesh!
Actually, that giraffe fed an entire village. She’s not just hunting for trophys.

I don’t understand trophy photos, especially the kind that social media have spawned.
Yes, I’ve become a soft man in my old age. I’m going to go hug my wild Yorkie now.
I’m surprised how many antihunting people are here on this conservative forum. Think about it this way. At least the animal has a chance, instead of sitting in a pen waiting to be your burger. Hunting is billions of years older and far more natural than all the ways we treat animals now.
Even animals need culling. Who cares whether its a licensed 12 y. o. trophy or a wildlife conservation department employee? After all, there’s got to be some safari bucks in this, eh?
