The foreign ministers of Germany, France and Poland agreed on Sunday there should be greater international efforts to end the fighting in eastern Ukraine, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters.
He said there had not been sufficient progress in implementing the Minsk agreement. Western officials were talking with Russia and Ukraine to encourage them to implement measures already agreed in the Minsk process, including communal elections, he said.
"We have to work for a de-escalation of the situation," he said.

I’m reminded of the pre-WWII Low Countries’ diplomats whose pre-invasion meeting determined that their planned, but extensive, defenses were insufficient against the Wehrmachtand that the Wehrmacht was really France’s problem.
The funny think is that the “velvet Divorce” might turn to a velvet reunion in next 5 years or so, I think.
They just signed a deal about a flyover and the right to shoot down any aircraft deemed unfriendly over both countries. Not even NATO has the same authority.
plus most Ukies politicians don’t not only speak Ukrainian, they do not even hold the country’s passport.

With this current effete, inept, Democrat Party poised to gain another four years of power, we should learn from the past.
Citizens of The Ukraine, however politically flawed, deserve support from the West. Poland borders The Ukraine, and also became a "hell-hole"no thanks to WWII Allies' denials of Soviet dominance.
