When you think about the % of millennials who pierce and tattoo their bodies, you have to wonder about their problem with any variety of soap!

Wow. Two showers a day? It reminds of the pre-Beverly Hillbillies series “The Real McCoys.” When they finally got running water, the daughter spent a lot of time in the bathtub. Grandpa McCoy warned her that her skin would shrivel up and fall off.

One of the first things they taught us in nursing school, 1975 was to rinse the bar of soap after you wash your hands with it and then replace it on the soap dish. Nobody knows how to wash hands properly any more- my father grew up in the pre-penicillin era where the best defense against germs was serious handwashing before every meal. He called us all to the bathroom to wash hands before eating any meal.

Heh. I remember the original version of that...

I was under the impression that soap was self cleaning. Am I right or wrong? Inquiring minds want to know!!

Not “Wildroot Creme Oil Hair Tonic” w/ Lanolin? (It was the sponsor of the Sam Spade radio show.)

I was given a bottle of body wash. It's a couple of years old. I'll occasionally use it for shaving.
Normally, I move the all-but-gone Dial soap bar to the shaving soap bowl, and use that.

Most chain stores charge for product placement now leading to the disappearance of many of my favorite products. Newer products are much more expensive and/or do not work as well. They have had to cheapen products or package them in ways that lead to wastage to help make up for the placement costs and compete with store brand generics.
Here are some of my personal favorite care products (at least two of which can no longer be found in most stores so I order online):
Dr. Bronner, Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps
Traditional German Castile Soap. Dr. Bronner was a unique person who moved to California and espoused a Moral ABC philosophy. Unfortunately, his family, who inherited the company, are taking things in a leftist political direction. They still make great soap, though, and very economical when used correctly.
Salux Nylon Japanese Beauty Skin Bath Wash Cloth/towel
I lived in Japan for quite a few years and experienced the pleasure of using Japanese baths where I learned about these wash cloths. They really make a small bit of soap go a long way and provide a great scrubbing.
Tres Flores Brilliantine Solid Pomade
Believe it or not, first picked this up at a corner liquor store in San Diego. It is what a lot of Latino men use and gives their hair excellent hold and appearance. It smells wonderful too and chicks dig it. I have gotten more compliments from this one product than anything else that I use.
St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub
Great exfoliant with Salicylic acid for controlling acne. Generic versions are available but I have found the real deal to be worth the extra money.
Queen Helene Facial Masque, Mint Julep
Does what it is advertised to do. Tightens and shrinks pores while drawing grease and impurities out. They have changed the packaging recently leading to rumors that the formula has changed but I have not found this to be true. It still works as well as ever.

This kind of RESEARCH gets paid for?CBS evening news is doing a long segment on a study on fire. It's not like fire has been around since before mankind. It hasn't changed over the eons.

Those liquid soaps are full of grease and oil and you can’t get rid of the slippery feel.
Not all bar soaps are slimy.

Wet the little bar of soap and stick it to a new bar. Problem solved.
Or put it in a squirt bottle filled with water and you have liquid soap without the expense.
Those with long hair can squeegee the shampoo out of their hair onto the rest of themselves instead of washing it down the drain. Saves on bar and liquid soap.

I grew up on Butch Wax. Now I have no hair.
You weren't suppose to eat it!
No wonder your hair fell out.

Old Spice smells wonderful.
My son wears it occasionally but also uses some sort of strong liquid soap.
