Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham may play the role of Hillary Clinton in Donald Trumps prerpation for the upcoming presidential debates, according to the Washington Post.
Trump is meeting with Ingraham, former Fox News Channel chairman Roger Ailes, and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani to talk over possible debate preparation strategies, the Post reported.
Some top officials within the campaign have hinted at an unconventional debate prep strategy.
Hes an unconventional candidate, so debate prep in the classic sense doesnt apply to him, campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told the Post.
That applies to the accoutrements that are usually associated with getting ready for debates: contrived gestures, lecterns, a group of consultants in belted khakis holed up in a cabin, the Socratic method of peppering questions. Thats not him, she added.
Donald Trump is the unpredictable X-factor and Hillary Clinton is the scripted statist. I fully understand why Team Clinton feels the need to drown her in briefing books and Hollywood consulting.
Giuliani said Trump will simply try to be himself during the debates, and avoid the risk of being someone he is not.
Youre going to see a very natural and normal guy someone who is comfortable with who he is, not someone whos highly scripted or nervous, he said.
The real risk is when a guy tries to be something other than what he is.
Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon told the Post that the Democratic presidential nominee is preparing for Trumps unpredictability.
I think [Clinton] will approach the debate with a great deal of seriousness and a sense of purpose, and also keenly aware that Donald Trump is capable of anything, he said.
The first debate will take place in Hofstra University outside New York City on Sept. 26.

Cankles breezed through the debates in the spring with Bernie because she knew he was bought and paid for so she could stay with the script. That won’t be the case against Trump. He will have her on the defensive and he will grill Hillary with points that no other Republicans would have the guts to do. She is so scripted and can’t think fast on her feet, and I expect more than a few “deer in the headlights” moments during these debates for Hillary.
I wish he could make her mad!
Hope she’s brushing up on her shouting out of “racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamaphobe!”
No need to walk off. All she has to do is look frightened like she did in the Senate debate with Lazio. The lamestream media will take it from there, casting Trump as a "mean-spirited troglodyte ganging up on her".
Sorry, I confused her with Andrea Mitchell. I’ve listened to Laura Ingraham from time to time and she’s okay.
To be even more realistic:
- Give her the questions in advance
- Make sure the moderators befriend her
- Turn up cheering machines when Hillary’s voice hits a certain cadence
- Add boos when Trump zings her
- Ask her about being a grandma
- Ask Trump about “when he stopped being a racist” (or “beating his wife”, or whatever some idiot has invented by then)
Will she be wearing a fat suit?
At first, I was going to ask who the moderators were going to be. Then I did my own research and realized that there was no news on any selection (should be announced after Labor Day.) What scares me is the past history where the moderator(s) inserted themselves into the story. Who can forget CNN's Candy Crowley's Oops moment?
However this paragraph from CNN, themselves, gives me heartburn about the current selection process. FYI: The article made NO MENTION of the above error in the 2012 Obama-Romney debate. Strange, no?
"Here, the Commission is handicapped by the absence of Jim Lehrer and Bob Schieffer, two elder statesmen of political journalism whom the Commission frequently relied upon to serve as moderators. Both men retired from moderating debates after the 2012 cycle and joined the Commission's board of directors, though Schieffer it left earlier this year in order to return to CBS News as an occasional contributor."
The Commission on Presidential Debates is OFFICIALLY bipartisan but with most directors being DC insiders for considerable years, it smells of Uniparty to me.
I have full faith in Trump that he will not be led down the corrupt moderator path. He has publicly voiced that he will agree to the debates based on who the moderators are. He has proven ratings and that gives him great leverage to call the shots.
Laura spoke for 15 minutes.

I hope Laura can bark?
Laura so have to wear a fat suit with a shart stain on it if she wants to be authentic.
Whatever - I confused Laura Ingraham with Andrea Mitchell and no, I did not watch the RNC.
“Is she going to have to pee her pants, for authenticitys sake?”
Or wear a diaper and Mao collared jacket?
She will wear and Mao collared jacket, wear a diaper, AND pee her pants. Trump will see to that.
She gave a great speech at the convention.
Laura is just the one. She even carries the very similar octave in her voice, and she can express that occasional shade of arrogance and smirk, a quality to her facial expression that is competitive with that of Hillary.
Also, she is a nerd who can throw some curves that TRUMP can enjoy testing and breaking some barbs against.
Laura Ingraham is as good a mimic of Hillary as I can think of, actually.
I’ve read about events that took place but again I never watched it.
They’re going to tie a queen-sized pillow to each calf to simulate the cankles.
