Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Ronald Reagan
It ain't gonna work this time !
They could get jobs selling epipens from Bammy’s stash on the black market
Coal Shovel Ready Jobs?
Mission accomplished.
So now Hillary t go into the coal states and tell these people the Democrats got you new jobs.
But will they fall for it? Sadly, some will.
3,400 jobs paid for with a $39,000,000 grant. Hmmm... that works out to a little less than $11,500 per job.
Questions:
How long does the grant last?
Will leftover taxpayer money be returned if less than 3,400 people get trained?
Local pols here in WV are salivating like Pavlov’s dogs over this money.
Just plain ol’ mountain politics, buyin’ votes like the Rats always have in the coal fields.
There’s no love for the Beast here in WV, even without the coal issue. Not a single one of WV’s 55 counties went for Zer0 in 2012. It’ll be interesting to see just how much voter and/or election fraud this money can garner.
Another cynical attempt by Democrats to buy off coal miners yet again.
That dog won’t hunt anymore.
Pay to stay home?
What are these ‘jobs’?
Lame attempt at vote buying.
Wow that’s almost 400 jobs per state!
Sure to turn the economy around ...
let me tell you, there are only so many jobs out there...most are service related...
they are a pittance to what a full time coal miner would make, and they deserve that for the dangerous job they do...
we're replacing good old "man" jobs with desk jobs, retail jobs, and the like...
Did they increase the Chocolate Ration too?
I’d love to be a fly on the wall of any UMW meeting hall when the union thugs tell the rank and file to vote for Her Thighness because their jobs depend on it. OH, WAIT!! What jobs?
Let’s do some cipherin’. $39,000,000 divided by 3400 jobs (in agriculture) is just a little over a grand a job.
“The investments are expected to create or retain more than 3,400 jobs in agriculture, health care, manufacturing, technology and other industries. “
So, they’re spending that money to retain jobs. Obviously a payoff to Clinton supporters to dull the loss of high-paying coal jobs. That $39 million probably doesn’t even come close to the total monthly wages of the former coal miners.
This will just go to Clinton supporters, and not do anything about unemployment in the coal seam.
Here is how that “jobs” program works: they hire a few thousand temp employee people to take grant applications and, after all is said and done, only three coal miners end up with job. Meanwhile the organizations/NGOs that helped with the placement l for the jobs walk away with 98% of the money
Pathetic. Taxpayers continue to be raped.
This is how the Democrats operate. They enact policies that drive companies out of business. Then, they buy votes by opening up the government trough that tells the desperate citizens they will be saved as long as they vote Democrat. Smart tactics, right? FUDems!
