There always has been and always will be corrupt individuals in every church. It shouldn’t reflect on the Church as a whole.
Whether what the article says is true, may or may not be correct.

Even if he were to be “dealt with”, he has offspring who would pick up where he left off.
Ridding ourselves of him and his bile will require a Cleansing, Old Testament in scope and nature.

The reasons there shouldn't be any prosecutions in the United States for anything. If these two are clean, everyone is.
What a revolting situation.

Given some of the mainline protestant denominations’ embrace of immigration, I suspect they have received buckets of money too—just haven’t found that email yet :(

This sum somehow sounds rather “little” given the number of bishops that would need to be bribed in this fashion.
There are places where the Roman church is in even worse shape, though. Try the Philippines. It’s the predominant Christian denomination there. There’s so little support for integrity there, however, that a fellow like Duterte, going after a scapegoat by means of unaccountable murders, gets the cheers of most of the people. They aren’t even THINKING of the end game, but of the spectacle.
We might think honesty is something inborn. No it is not. It is something that is learned by the acceptance of the approach of God. And if the salt is slacking off on being salty, there’s nothing left to salt with.

He’s still just a human and a sinner like me and you. It always is humorous to me that protestants point to things the leader of the church says, but don’t even know the name of the leader of the Baptists, etc.
They paint all Catholics with a broad brush and ignore the likes of the WEstboro Baptist Church, etc. There are good and bad in every organization. Hard to imagine, but some bad ones are even in our govt.

That’s what I’d like to know. Has he done something to screw with Russia yet? I’m sure they would find a way to deal with him.
