UPI/CVoter poll: Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump hold steady in virtual tie
UPI/CVoter ^ | 8/23/2016 | Eric DuVall

WASHINGTON, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- The UPI/CVoter daily presidential tracking poll released Tuesday shows Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by less than 1 percentage point for a second consecutive day.

The online poll shows 47.98 for Clinton, compared to 47.24 for Trump.

Each candidate dropped two-tenths of a point in Tuesday's poll, with the percentage of "others" increasing by four-tenths. "Others" in the poll are defined as respondents who decline to pick either Clinton or Trump.

The UPI/CVoter online tracking poll surveys about 200 people each day, leading to a sample size of roughly 1,400 people during any seven-day span.

Because the poll is conducted online and individuals self-select to participate, a margin of error cannot be calculated. The poll has a credibility interval of 3 percentage points. This seven-day span includes data collected from Aug. 15-21, when 1,795 individuals were surveyed. Of them, 1,259 identified themselves as likely voters.

The democrat party is against Trump
Half the republican party is against Trump
News organizations are against Trump
Colleges and Universities are against Trump
Hollywood is against Trump
The music industry is against Trump
Most professional sports is against Trump
The Clinton campaign has spend tens of millions against Trump

And yet Trump is still manages to tie Clinton.

I think the Trump campaign has been doing outstanding so far and I expect number to swing in Trumps favor when his campaign starts spending more money.

I wonder if the Clinton campaign has figured out that Trumps success is helped in no small part by how unlike-able Ms. Clinton is.

The current polls are pretty much twisted to suite the media push and or bias of those conducting them....they are used to manipulate the moment or the edge desired.

Not until very close to the election will any be even remotely close to what they are, and in this election I would question them even then.

IMO Trump is further ahead than any would admit....just based on the crowds he gets as opposed to Hillary’s flops evidences far better than polls.

You could also add to that list that Hillary went up against a Socialist Sanders and couldn’t hold a lead without cheating...and the margins weren’t wide even with that.

Dornlife/LAT also shows similar result.

The best Hillary can manage is a tie?

A generic Democrat should be up by double digits in late August.

My theory is she never had a boomlet out of her convention. Her apparent lead was media-manufactured.

Nothing has changed in the real numbers since May.

“I think Trump needs to push the “Why is Hillary hiding? Come out and address all your failures Hillary” line much more often.”

I think what he needs to push is the same thing he said to the African American community. “What do you have to lose?”, and tie it to very specific issues and questions.

For example:

‘Under the direction of Hillary at the State Dept. we have seen the stability of the world rapidly decline. The Middle East is on fire, and it is because of this that we have a refugee crisis in the first place. We are living now at a time during which children are mowed down with a truck, people in the prime of life watching and participating in one of our classic American events - the Boston Marathon, are killed or lose their limbs because of hateful people using pressure cookers as weapons, people are beheaded, stabbed and slashed on buses and trains, shot to death en mass while at entertainment venues, or burned to death or worse by ISIS - and more. Our freedoms are under assault because we aren’t safe, and to hold on to some measure of perceived safety we alter our lives more and more.’

‘The real wages of Americans are stagnant, and the number of Americans who have left the labor force completely because they’ve given up is at incredible record highs. In the meantime, the costs of higher education for our children have gone through the roof, and at the same time the hopes for a better future for our children have dimmed. This is hurting minorities even worse.’

Our inner cities have become battlegrounds, with even toddlers dying as collateral damage in raging gang wars. Children are often not safe going to school, and people are afraid. Some of our greatest cities have degenerated to the point that houses are being demolished at a faster rate than any building that is occurring. Even more of our great cities are facing bankruptcy and economic collapse.’

How can we go on in the same way? Those who have contributed to and/or done nothing to address these crises are now asking you to continue with them, and walk even further into disaster and muddled future. How dare they ask you to trust them with your future and the futures of your children? How dare they? How can you trust and hand over the reigns of power to a person who has a long established track record of lying and an inability to take personal responsibility for her failures?’

Something along those lines..

And consider that Trump has spent nearly nothing on TV while Clinton has what....already spent close to 90 million?

Not that it is a huge indication but has anyone else close to a large city experienced the lack of yard signs. Here in West Suburban Chicago I see NO SIGNS for any candidate even down ballot signs. Is it to early or is this going on in other areas too?

WikiLeaks revealed last week that Hillary wears durable Adult Diapers. Since then, WikiLeak’s top London lawyer has been run over by a train. Coincidence? But now, will Trump use this info against Hillary in their debates? DEPENDS!!

It will all depend on turnout for the actual election.

Trump supporters need to make sure to actually cast a ballot in Nov.

Notice that Trump has done all this by not spending money on advertising?

Being at best a tie when you could be well ahead is not something to celebrate. Ceding a huge chunk of voters to your opponent and allowing her to monopolize the message with them is not a good idea.

It is a testament to how weak of a candidate Hillary Clinton is. However, that is hardly anything to celebrate - at a tie when you could be well ahead and just about already put her away...she is in almost complete control of the living room campaign with no competition. That’s not good.

Saw that...and they were using data going back to August 7th...things have calmed down since then for Trump.

If Hillary were up that big in Virginia she would have to be up like 20 nationally...don’t find that to be at all credible.

Historically, any republican not down by double digits is doing pretty damn good this soon after conventions. At this stage of the race he is getting swarms of support while the beast's is lukewarm. Trump's poll numbers have been increasing over the past two weeks even without a lot of campaigning.

His campaign is looking like it is being run by a businessman (ROI) instead of a politician (throw money at everything).
