The timeline HAS been established. All swimmers had left Rio BEFORE he made the apology and said he had ‘over-exagerated’ ...
From the reports, it has always looked like police armed robbery to me.
Also, after being nabbed by hostile, racist justice system and interrogated, I did not believe the reports claiming the captured swimmers were telling the truth when they claimed the robbery did not happen. They had to say that to get out of that third world cesspool.
A lot of freepers jumped right on the third world hate bandwagon. That was disappointing.
He exaggerated when he told his mom they “put a gun to his head.” They did not do that, exactly, although they pulled a gun or guns on him and demanded money. It was a figure of speech to describe a real armed robbery by police officers that took place over there.
As for the two or three that were nabbed by the judge on the way out, they would say anything to get out of there as it was obviously hostile and dangerous.

Agreed! There should have been no story at all but once you get the media on a blood trail, they're going to milk it for all they have. Especially if it means bringing down a U.S. Olympic gold medalist........now THAT is news and worthy of a Pulitzer if you can make it stick.
One wonders what the U.S. media response would have been if it had involved Olympians Rob Munn, Mike DiSanto, Kanak Jha and Tim Wang..........
My guess is there would have been no news reports whatsoever......
