Teen Trump fan, ejected from Charlotte rally, says he was profiled

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An 18-year-old Charlotte, N.C., college student who was ejected from Thursday's Donald Trump rally says he went from avid backer to disillusioned opponent after Trump's security accused him of being a known protester.

Jake Anantha, who registered as a Republican and cast his first primary vote for Trump, was wearing a Trump shirt when police removed him from the Charlotte Convention Center before the rally began. He and his father, Ramesh Anantha, say they believe he was profiled because of his dark skin. "It's unbelievably ironic," said Ramesh Anantha, whose parents emigrated from India. He says his son, as a young person of color appearing at a rally where the Republican presidential nominee touted his support for people of color, "should have been looked at as a perfect Trump supporter. He should have been somebody they're putting up on stage."

Look....I know you think you know them. You go to church with them......okay, I get that. But to take that loyal friendship and throw all objectivity away in the face of a plethora of pictures and narratives just doesn’t make sense to me. We differ. We differ greatly, apparently and I’m gonna just let this drop and move on and you can push against a mountain of questions all you like.

If it were me, I’d be examining my friendship or acquaintance more carefully. Just because you think you know someone in church doesn’t mean they’re squeaky clean. You won’t even consider the possibility that the kid was stupid and not thinking about what was happening in her interaction with this person.

It was not “just a picture” there was also an account of him handing out her pens which you refuse to believe. You know him. Call him up and ask him, then.

LOL the Anantha’s are hardly liberal plants.

Then why are they parroting liberal talking points?

"He and his father, Ramesh Anantha, say they believe he was profiled because of his dark skin."

"I thought (Trump) was for all people. I don't believe he is for all people anymore," he said. "Why are all these white people allowed to attend and I'm not?"

""It was a very rude introduction into the world of politics," said Ramesh Anantha, who works in financial services. "We realize Donald Trump himself had nothing to do with this problem, but it's the type of campaign he's running."

Both men say they'd like an apology, but even if that happens, Trump has lost the family's vote."

And if they really are Republicans, why would a mistake - if it was that - cause them to change their vote?

Like I said, call your "friend" and ask them what on earth they are doing. I suspect you'll find out they aren't really Republicans, just RINO liberals.

“So you are saying that the two of them did not know each other?”

LOL, Jake Anantha? I highly doubt it.

“The media seems to be trying to tie them both together...”

And you think the news media is always correct and has conservative’s/Republican’s/Donald Trump’s best interests at heart?

Um...ok.

It was security, not Trump himself, who ejected him .

Running to Maddow was what did it for me.

The kid wanted his 15 minutes of fame———— and he got it.

Interesting how you value the weight of evidence here.

In weighing evidence wouldn't the statements of the kid and his dad as reported in the press be stronger than your statements regarding them? Unless of course the SF Gate article misquoted them.

That's why you should endeavor to find out what they are really up to. Unless the SF Gate article made up the quotes, then Mr. Anantha and his son are not at all as you believe them to be.

Sort of undercuts your entire story. Fiction?

Yes, I believe this to be the case because this man got too close to a known agitator in my opinion.

I initially believed you until I read their statements. Really? They sound like plants to me. What big Trump supporters run to MSNBC and talk like this?

Remember that lady with the baby that supposedly got kicked out of the Trump event? The media had its narrative but she called them out and disputed it. She didn't go on CNN or MSNBC and whine about Trump hating babies.

If you have something to say, stand up for yourself. Don’t cut and run. Otherwise, you will only cause many to assume you made up the whole story.

No, I am always suspicious of the media’s narrative, that’s why I am asking you questions to figure all of this out.
The kid went right to the media to tell his story and how he will now be voting for Johnson because security threw him out of a building....

“He should have been somebody they’re putting up on stage.”

So he’s saying don’t exclude me based on skin color, but rather include me based on skin color.

Anyone who gets that bent out of shape that easily is not now nor never has been a Trump supporter.

To now be anti Trump just underscores the point

The local newspaper has reports from other witnesses indicating Anantha was a protestor:

"Victor Mooney, a 23 year old African-American Charlotte resident, who also attended the rally, was a first hand witness of the entire incident."

"Victory questioned Anantha’s need to rush to the front of the crowd, and wondered why he put on his pro-Trump shirt only after he began to attract attention.."

If he’s truly pro Trump, he’d thank the security detail for being diligent in their job and tell them, “No problem.”

But this so called fan boy who cast his first vote for Trump would most definitely have something.

New media is how under 25s interact...,everything goes there.

And what are the son’s politics?..

Most Indian Americans are not Christian....

Why would someone who is pro Trump now be anti Trump? That is his claim? This just seems like the typical college students my feelings are hurt......what has the father said since you know him personally

Surely a true Trump supporter would b laughing at this
