Time for a Ted Cruz reboot, as poll shows Republicans down on him since his snub of Trump
The Dallas Morning News ^ | August 19, 2016 | Todd J. Gillman

Ted Cruz's image among Republicans had plummeted to a personal low by the Indiana primary — the defeat that forced him from the GOP presidential contest.

But he may wish for those heady days of May now...

Potential GOP rivals are probing for weakness ahead of Cruz's bid for a second term in 2018. That includes House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Austin. The former federal prosecutor is the second wealthiest member of the U.S. House, with access to a family fortune topping $100 million, though he has no obvious base of support to overcome the tea partyers still plenty in thrall of Cruz.

Dryly assessing Cruz's tenure in the Senate, McCaul said Wednesday that he'd "spent a lot of time running for president..."

For 14 months, Cruz spent precious little time in Texas as he stoked the flames of his White House ambitions.

Rick perry would end up being a Cornyn clone. Even with Cruz’s flaws, I’d rather have him.

There's still a few Cruz dead-enders and discredited Cruz Neo Cons left on FR.

They lay low and avoid threads like this one, but can be drawn out on policy threads.

When they emerge they are rabid.

This article calls it a “snub”. I call it “lying”. Period.
I’LL NEVER VOTE FOR CRUZ AGAIN. He can “lawyer” for a
living; he’s a good lawyer probably.

"Conservative has turned out to be another word for elite, wealthy low wage one world govt folk."

Conservative Orthodoxy is the most thoroughly discredited faction in modern American politics.

And the derision is warranted.

"The RINOs were always against him"

And all Nationalists.

And the vast majority of the Republican electorate.

Hell, even everyone who ever met him hates him.

A recent poll showed Rick Perry besting Felito for the senate seat in 2018.

"We need the islamist scumbag La Raza Rick even less than Cruz."

I am not a big fan of Rick Perry, but I'll take him over lying Ted any day.

Lying Ted lied to Republicans voters when he pledged, not once but twice, that he would support the GOP nominee not matter who that was. Any man that deliberately breaks his word is scum.

Lying Ted, Jeb, Carly, Kasick and Linda should all be booted from the Republican party for breaking their word to Republican voters. There should be consequences for looking the voters in the eye and lying. Serious consequences.

That all of the above would rather see Hillary as POTUS tells me that not only do they have character issues (liars) they are not even conservative nor are the patriots of these United States. Let Hillary appoint 3 Marxists to the Supreme Court SC and our Constitution is dead, dead, dead. Let Hillary grant amnesty to tens of million of illegals and the Rats will have a super majority forever. Let Hillary import millions of muslims and our culture is dead, dead, dead. That Cruz etc, is cool all this makes him in my mind a despicable human being, far from the "principled conservative" he pretends to be. Cruz is as phony as three dollar bill. And I am still waiting to see his citizenship papers.

cruz is finished in national politics the moment he disregarded his pledge. the same would happen to trump if he were flagrantly disregard a pledge.....there is a sense of integrity with in the republican party something missing in the democratic party.

Since when did TeaParty stand for a European style VAT tax? Cruz's VAT tax plan is enough to strip him of any ‘conservative’ ideology claims. The size of government would by necessity be increased just to oversee a VAT tax system. Cruz is a con man. And those poor evangelicals, they will be the last to admit they were seduced. Well, except for those that claim they hold the high end of the Bell Curve.

Right I am hoping either Abbott or Dan Patrick take on lying Ted. I hate it that I’d be forced to vote Cruz in the general but 6 years is a long time to give away a GOP Senate seat.

Ted Cruz's image among Republicans

Is he still here?

I figured by now Barry Hussein's INS would be cross-examining and giving him a prolonged cavity search.

That includes House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Austin. The former federal prosecutor is the second wealthiest member of the U.S. House, with access to a family fortune topping $100 million

McCaul is an immigration patriot, unlike lip-service border fake Ted Cruz.
McCaul is the one who exposed the fact that 300 Somali Al-Shabaab terrorists entered the U.S. border -- and that Obama tried to cover it up.
