Yep, and amazing how quickly it's developing, until you look back in history at rapid developments of other conflicts. Things move slowly at first, then all at once.

sometimes I wonder if the book of revelations was written by a time traveler escaping a nuclear conflagration and they left it as a warning we will never heed....

Right now it's Iran, Russia and Syria. Turkey is caught in a squeeze play. They will go with whoever is the strong horse. Kurds are holding their own in Iraq, defending their territory in Syria, under pressure from Erdogan in Turkey which is par for the course.
