(CNN) A federal judge denied Friday a request by a conservative legal watchdog group to depose Hillary Clinton in person over her email server but says she does have to answer written questions.
The judge, Emmet Sullivan, said Clinton will have to answer questions under oath from the group, Judicial Watch, within 30 days.
Separately, Sullivan denied Judicial Watch's request to depose an official in the State Department's Freedom of Information Act office, Clarence Finney, but approved their request to depose a former IT official, John Bentel.

Written answers from lawyers.
Written depositions are useless. Lawyers write the answers.
So will it be more like “Match Game” as opposed to “To Tell the Truth”?
Her lawyers will have to answer written questions. She’ll never even see them.
Kind of a push. Not ideal but better than nothing
OH, the horrors! No one will have to watch Hillary have a seizure brought on by too much stress. She and her lawyers can sit very calmly and answer questions, at their leisure, over a glass of wine.
Hitlery will have to write ‘I am not a crook’ 500 times and she’ll be scot free!
Now. Who ordered the murder of Vince Foster and the pile of bodies she has left in her and Billy Goat’s wake?
Meanwhile a Navy guy who snapped 6 photos of a submarine interior simply to show off for buddies got...
A YEAR IN PRISON.
Headlines from TODAY.
If you’re important, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW THE LAW.
Even a good judge does not what to end up on the body count list.
The judge is corrupted. This is a total loss for JW. I appreciate their trying but written answers are crap filled with objections— no video. We need to elect Trump. Obama will grant the sick bitch criminal clemency. Trump will ignore it and arrest her and try her anyway like obama ignored our immigration laws. LOCK HER UP_!!!
The lawyers will write the responses, but she will have to swear to them.
They’re called “interrogatories,” and while her attorneys will draft the answers, she will have to swear under oath to their truth and accuracy. Not that swearing to anything means much to her. BUT it could conceivably catch her in a web.

She was ‘caught’, red-handed, numerous times already...How’d that work out?
The lawyers will draft answers to every question that are innocuous
Judicial Watch lost the gambit
You are correct and her lawyers will write the answers. However, using her own words on multiple occasions she has lied so I do not know how the lawyers can answer without either repeating the lies or creating new ones.
This will provide further proof of the lies, but nothing else will change and the majority already find her to be dishonest. The left will continue to claim it is partisan politics and old news. The right will continue to call her a liar.
She lied during the Watergate investigation. She lied during Billy Jeff’s Arkansas politics and insider trading days, she lied as First Lady, she lied during her time in the Senate, and she lied as Sec. of State. Nothing has changed - she will continue to lie as a candidate, they will continue to lie about their racketeering organization, and she would continue to lie as President.
Your original comment was that her being ordered to respond to interrogatories vs. sitting for a deposition was worthless. I merely noted that interrogatory responses must be signed under oath.
Your more recent comment about her being caught “red-handed” without consequences affirms the appropriateness of the decision to go with only written interrogatories, as lying in either an interrogatory or deposition makes no difference to Hillary!
Why...because she's above the law? (YES!)
