There is nothing more perfect he could have said to these people. They just needed to be reminded they will rebuild. We gain strength from each other in times like that.

That is clearly Trump’s own words. A real estate mogul, a builder. He can emphathize.
Just like with the Milwaukee riot. A hotel manager sees panicked people flee into the shelter of his building sometimes. He sees the fear in their eyes. And just from reading the transcript I could see it from his perspective how people generally want to sleep safe and sound.
That’s the way people are, a side of them he had seen more closely than most of us for his entire life.
