Trump Receiving First Classified Briefing Today, Critics Cringe

GOP nominee Donald Trump is poised to receive his first classified intelligence briefing

in New York City on Wednesday. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence will give Trump a "fairly general" report, says Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.   Retired Gen. Michael Hayden emphasized this latter point, noting the secret meetings will be "secret-light."

Many have voiced their concerns about Trump having knowledge of important national security intel, especially after he invited Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's emails.

the words "Trump" and "classified intelligence briefing" are so hard to write in the same tweet.— Edward Luce (@EdwardGLuce) August 17, 2016

Others pointed out that hours before Trump's intelligence briefing, he said he "doesn't' trust" U.S. intel.

As for the Democratic nominee, who as secretary of state mishandled national security intel on an unsecure private server, House Speaker Paul Ryan formally requested she be prohibited from receiving such briefings.

The media will now ask him what the briefing covered. He’ll answer “If I told you I’d have to kill you”. Tomorrow’s headlines will be TRUMP THREATENS MEDIA WITH DEATH.

First thing, unlike his royal hind-end Obama (who skips about 60% of his daily briefings), I expect Trump to actually show up for his security briefing(s).

Secondly, unlike Hillary, I expect Trump to be able comprehend the information AND keep it secure. With Trump (or just about anybody else) it will be a both/and, not an either/or. Hillary seems to neither comprehend security nor keep it secure.

LTG Flynn will be there to make sure Trump doesn’t get played by these tools

Hayden. What an asshole (excuse my French) and what a disappointment.
But maybe now we know why so many bad things happened on his NSA and CIA watches

He needs to be careful. I believe this is the trap Obama’s snakes used to shut Romney down, in particular on Benghazi.

I think he was given a phony briefing on going operations and a nondisclosure agreement that limited things he could say.

It is almost better to turn down these briefings until after the election

I'm wondering if the administration will announce that there's been some type of security breach a couple of days from now. The media will then speculate about how odd it is that it happened only a few days after Donald Trump received his first security briefing.

Personally, I have no problem with Trump getting them and it would be a beautiful thing if the Hag was kept completely OUT of it. She’s PROVEN she can’t be trusted with a roll of toilet paper much classified material. Bad for us that her and BO and Jarrett knew our most private secrets....it shows! This government needs a political enema like never before and Donald Trump is the one to do it!! GO TRUMP!

Critics? They mean Hillary supporters who ignore her felony violations of national security secrets.

Trump didn’t invite Russia to hack Hillary. He invited them to release what they already hacked.

Correct! How can the Russians hack Hillary's e-mails...when she has already admitted to deleting them all. She wiped the server clean.

But that won’t fly. We are on to them, thanks to Trump exposing their backsides for all the world to see.

Dear DA Cortney O'Brien, There is no such thing as a Democratic nominee.
If you can't get that simple part correct why should I read further?

How many times in the past, in the ‘business’ section of newspapers, have there been reported negotiations of deals, and really nothing of meat was reported, until the deal was concluded or dismissed?

How many times have reports of deals done, with no forementioning, have been reported?

Confidentiality does run through the business world, as it should in the frame of competition between companies vying for the same thing!

With Hillary, wave a wad of cash in your hand in front of her face, and you can get the ‘round the world’.

At least Trump has some knowledge of the definition of ‘confidential’.

Trump "doesn't trust US Intelligence." Can't say that I blame him.
As an international business guru, I'm sure he subscribes to some of the better private intelligence services reports.

How many of you on the MI ping list would consider returning to producing real intelligence for our nation, once we again have a real American President?
Count me IN.

Make US Intelligence great again!

Trump surely has his onw well developed Intelligence service as well as his own Security with the Secret Service merely an added layer. He has a pretty good chance of surviving through to the election.

LBJ was photographed holding a TS Codeword document. He caused thousands of $$ and man hours to be spent doing a changeover. Probably the dufus didn't even understand what he was holding. Hillery is even worse.
