Back in the late 60’s my then debutante-turned-hippie roommate was absolutely appalled that a friend and I would make ethnic jokes toward each other. I am absolutely, totally appalled. At the time, everyone else I knew made ethnic jokes. Now, don’t even think of it. In al this PC, the biggest loss is our sense of humor, and ability to laugh at ourselves.
They took the old TV show ‘Amos and Andy’ off TV decades ago, but it was funny and not stereotypical as they claimed. Even black people liked it. I enjoyed it and fondly remember the shows to this day, and I’m 61. We have lost more than our ‘sense of humor’, we have lost what it means to be an American........
