Newser) The Muslim flight attendant placed on unpaid leave last year after refusing to serve alcohol in accordance with her religion is now suing her employer. Charee Stanley of Detroit says Georgia-based airline ExpressJet was initially quite accommodating of her religious beliefs when she converted to Islam in 2013, even granting her request to wear a hijab to work. But when she became aware that "the Islamic proscription on consuming alcohol also extended to the act of serving alcohol to others" in 2015, she says she asked her employer if other flight attendants could serve alcohol in her place, reports the Guardian.
ExpressJet agreed, Stanley saysuntil a coworker complained. Stanley says the airline then told her to serve alcohol or resign, eventually placing her on unpaid leave in August. She was "on track for eventual termination for her requesting an accommodation of being allowed to not personally serve alcohol rather than abandoning her religious belief and practice," reads the lawsuit, filed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, per the New York Daily News. Stanley wants her job back, plus economic, emotional, and punitive damages.

Bake that cake!
Right but pedophilia is just dandy.
A black Muzzie? Most likely her baby Daddy turned to allah in prison. Did t know Muslims could suck any more.
Seems to me if the homos can force someone to adhere to their sick ideas, so can the muzzies but than again this is the land of some are more equal than others.
I cannot, for the life on me, understand how someone who will not do the job they were hired to do can expect to sue the employer. This is insanity.
Mooz Sues! (Refused to serve Booze)
They hate pigs and alcohol but love slicing necks.
If a Catholic pharmacist can be compelled to dispense birth control and abortifacients, why shouldn’t a muslim be compelled to serve cocktails?
Did she not know the airline served alcohol when she applied for and accepted the job? There are islamic airlines she should have applied to one of them.
That sums it up. I belong to a fundamental baptist church. I serve alcohol because it is part of my job. (I don’t agree with the fb belief that all alcohol is sin so it’s not a perfect parallel.) If I were to request that my fellow servers carried all the drinks to my tables it would be a huge burden on them, it would hurt service to customers, and I would be fired.
They always get their way. Jennie-O turkey used to use lard on their meat processing equipment, not anymore-it’s now shortening. Companies put in foot washing sinks and allow breaks for prayers that are often enough to cost the company money. It’s madness.
Part of their job is, quite literally, being a cocktail waitress. It’s like a bartender refusing to serve alcohol and then suing because he was fired.
If a Catholic can be forced to pay for other peoples abortions.....Maybe Ms. Mooslim can serve drinks?
If a baker can be forced to bake a cake, this chickie needs to serve the drinks.
First and foremost, you have to be in the right victim class. Then, the sky's the limit.
She wasn’t muslim when she took the job. She converted after the fact, and learned of the alcohol prohibition even later.
The key words are in your question: 'Catholic', and 'muslim'. The lunatic Left will side with the member of the Death Cult every time.
Oh, and yeah, if devout Christian bakers, Christian pharmacists, Christian educational institutions and Christian venue operators can be forced to violate their beliefs by being required to serve homosexuals or fund abortions or dispense abortifacients, then muslims must also perform public services required as part of their employment that violate their beliefs, such as transporting or serving alcohol, carrying dogs in their taxis, etc.
Yes, I read the article after I commented, a proud FReeper tradition. ;)
Islam is incompatible with western culture. If you want to keep your Koran, don’t work as a flight attendant for an airline based in the U.S.! If you don’t like it, go somewhere else rather than insist that WE conform to YOUR beliefs. It’s a big world out there. SO LEAVE.
