Remember, Proverbs are things that are COMMONLY true, and quite often not INFALLIBLY true. “Proverbs are not promises.”
We can get in God’s way by doing things like congratulating ourselves and wreaking our own personal vengeance, which will invalidate a connection that the Proverbs might otherwise make. If Christians behave as Christians then God will deal with the world to their benefit. Otherwise they may be found as the recipients of chastisement, because the son is disciplined before the slave is.
