PLANT CITY (FOX 13) - A driver with a history of road rage violence was shot and killed this morning in what deputies say was an apparent road rage altercation.
The exchange happened on Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard at Forbes Road in the Plant City area around 6:30 a.m.
Investigators said that two drivers, 40-year-old Gary Durham and 42-year-old Robert Padgett, were involved in a confrontation. According to deputies, Padgett pulled out a gun and fatally shot Durham.

Now that’s a bit extreme. It’s only crossed my mind to have a bag of fishing sinkers as an accessory but that’s about it.
This is not the MLK you think. It is a relatively rural area outside of Tampa, but about 20 miles into the country. It’s a small town best known for its Strawberry Festival. The only reason it has an MLK road is because they renamed the entire Highway.
Now, this is not one of the roads where you tell a young man to go West. Here be dragons and all...

I remember seeing freeway shootings on tv in NY and I would think Californians were nuts. Then I moved out here, The people doing the shooting are the sane ones. The others were the a-holes that can’t drive.
This runs from Plant City into Tampa through a lot of rural and suburban/unincorporated areas in between. The shooting was in a mostly rural area. It's also known as highway 574.

I don’t wish ill on anyone, BUT, if there is another of these kinds of road ragers out there, may it be you or your family they focus on, not some innocent person.
