Media justify anti-Trump bias, claim he's too 'dangerous' for normal rules
Fox News ^ | August 9, 2014 | Howard Kurtz

The media’s legions of Trump-bashers are finally acknowledging the obvious.

And trying their best to justify it.

But there’s one problem: Tilting against one candidate in a presidential election can’t be justified.

This is not a defense of Donald Trump, who has been at war with much of the press since he got in the race. Too many people think if you criticize the way the billionaire is being covered, you are somehow backing Trump.

And it’s not about the commentators, on the right as well as the left, who are savaging Trump, since they are paid for their opinions.

This is about the mainstream media’s reporters, editors and producers, whose credo is supposed to be fairness.

And now some of them are flat-out making the case for unfairness—an unprecedented approach for an unprecedented campaign.

Put aside, for the moment, the longstanding complaints about journalists being unfair to Republicans. They never treated Mitt Romney, John McCain, George W. Bush or Bob Dole like this.

Keep in mind that the media utterly misjudged Trump from the start, covering him as a joke or a sideshow or a streaking comet that would burn itself out. Many of them later confessed how wrong they had been, and that they had missed the magnitude of the anger and frustration that fueled Trump’s unlikely rise.

Media is rife with blackmail, extortion, bribes and immorality. Most journalistic decisions are made in the Hamptons on the weekends. Nothing will change until there investigations and prosecutions and that isn’t going to happen.

Dole was a clear and imminent danger because he did not support Universal Pre-K.

Even better - Trump has his AG launch a criminal RICO investigation against the various MSM networks, the Clinton Foundation, the DNC and some named individuals (like Obama, Jarrett, Lynch, Holder, etc.) alleging the following:

Conspiracy
Money Laundering
Racketeering
Obstruction of Justice
Aiding and Abetting Illegal Immigration

And you know what? My understanding is that under the civil law provisions of the RICO statute, Trump can file this lawsuit NOW and then have the DOJ intervene and up it to a criminal law issue after he’s inaugurated.

Now THAT would be worth the price of a new popcorn popper!

Prosecute them for WHAT exactly?

There is no law against being biased. Newspapers in the early days of the Republic were all openly and unabashedly biased.

Problem today is they’ve all joined together in a monopoly on the same side.

So, the media is using its bias to justify its bias.

If this is a Media coup d'etat, then they've declared themselves to be enemy combatants.

ALL of them.

Ronald Reagan is lucky twitter and facebook didnt exist when he was running for President..the way things are now he wouldn’t have stood any chance at winning..but the difference is, Ronald Reagan didnt talk to the media, he went directly to THE PEOPLE, they were the ones that mattered not anyone else..the media called him a cowboy, a moron, unfit for office and he still won because he knew how to talk to the people and get his message across and people saw the media for what they were, unfortunately nowadays even with a corrupt media some people still follow them like sheep

I remember an article saying George W was “a dangerous Christian”. I thought, wow, what a complement.

What is really the most pathetic aspect of this, is that some of the media types are really stupid enough to believe their own rationalization. They have been conditioned by their mentors in Academia to react like Pavlovian dogs to anyone who dares to break the hold of "political correctness," on American public debate.

Damn the lies & Damn the liars! All in for Trump! Full speed ahead!

Aw, c’mon. These guys have families to support, kids to send to college...There are powerful interests at stake here. Government bureaus, worldwide companies, military contractors...And would you expect Carlos Slim to allow an uncultured vulgarian like Trump to wreck his empire?

C’mon. Reporters don’t want to be heros.

He is very dangerous to their continued feeding at the government trough and maintaining their elite status and all the lucre that comes from it. So the media arm of the establishment does have a point...

“I say when Trump wins, we find these journalists and reeducate them with hard labor.”

Create a reporter accountability act. Don’t blame the station, blame the reporter.

“.........too ‘dangerous’ for normal rules”..

Who made those “rules”? Just because Trump is not politically correct, tells the truths like it is and criticizes the lieing media and of course ol’ “Thunder Thighs”, he’s not fit? We no longer have a democratic unbiased news media, we have a propaganda machine.

The media themselves are the “dangerous ones” for spreading Hitlary’s numerous lies and propaganda. They do not report the news, they create the very obviously biased “news”.
