The government has no right and no authority to control what churches say. The First Amendment makes that clear.
But once they’re given 501(c)(3) status, the government tries to get its hooks in that way. Sneaky.
It proves what we’ve said for decades — at lest going back to teh fight over aid to education half a century ago. Federal aid brings Federal control. (which is why my alma mater refuses to accept government money in any form.)
If this is the story I heard about previously, I think it had something to do with the church running a day care facility.
Regardless, I’m sure the day is coming when churches will have to choose between free speech and tax-free status. And that seems like an easy choice to me. But it should separate the wheat from the tares, the sheep from the goats, etc.
Oh that day is definitely coming and if Hillary wins it will probably be very soon. Things start out subtle and if the mob accepts it they accelerate really fast.
