No, it is a bad, redistributionist and social-meddling proposal all around.

He has staked out position to the left of Hillary on this!

It is not only that, but that those who come up with their own family-based solutions, whether mom staying home or the grandparents pitching in, end up subsidizing those who institutionalize their children or bring in a nanny instead.

Bad, bad, bad economic policy as well, in that it leeches tax cut viability away from simply having lower rates, since lower rates are the family neutral (and in this case therefore, the family-based) solution to economic incentives and traditional childcare.

They are both horrible solutions!

He should have stuck to lower rates—which are what help the economy without hurting the family.

“It’s fair because the person who died doesn’t need it anymore and the ones inheriting didn’t earn the money.”

I hated it when Anthony Weiner was saying and I hate it now.

The inheritance tax is evil. I know this first hand.

What you seem to be forgetting is that it is person whose money it is that determines what happens to his estate when he/she dies. If they believe it could be better used out of their children’s hands, they have the choice — NOT YOU OR ANY MONEY GRUBBING GOVERNMENT!!

In my case, due to the inheritance tax, I cannot tell you how many jobs I would have created.

Go join some socialist forum.

LMAO!!! You are determined to “prove” it can’t be done. Obviously, changes would have to be made in what we fund, how efficient the government actually does anything, etc. Cutting 1.2 trillion of more off Fedzilla spending seems like a very conservative thing to do. Right? We are for smaller government, balanced budgets are we not?

Vote Trump 2016

It’s not my money, it’s no longer the deceased’s money, but it is my business.

I care what you’re saying. I just don’t agree with it. Death taxes have been around for thousands of years in one form or another. Most of the time they just wait for you to die. In some era’s and countries they killed you themselves and took the money.

Just think of all those Hollywood A-listers who will have to pay it.

There is no logical difference in a business expense for the care of your equipment and expenditures on health and well-being. You can’t work if you are dead, sick or disabled, and you can’t drive a car if you don’t change the oil. As for gas, it’s like food for a body, so food should be untaxes just like fuel is for a business. But the point of taxes is not to be logical, it is to raise revenue that the central government can then use to increase its power.

Go back to your dark cave or re-read and try and comprehend what I've said.

The death tax is the fairest economic equalizer when applied properly.

What nonsense. You have outed yourself as being a statist and a socialist.

All death tax should be eliminated. It is a tax on property that was taxed when the original owner acquired it. The government got its cut when the income was earned. Then it wants another cut, up to 50 percent. God forbid a man should work his whole life in order to pass down his earnings to his family. No, every family should have to start from scratch, generation after generation. That is pure communist theory.

You probably know absolutely nothing about the 'Death Tax'. So I guess you've outed yourself as ignorant.

The estate tax rate is 40%. There was no estate tax in 2010. In 2011, the basic exclusion was $5 million and a top federal estate tax rate of 35%. For those who died in 2009, your heirs owed no estate taxes in 2009 on the first $3.5 million (2006 -- 2008 on the first $2 million).

You get off your *ss and look it up.

You’re on the wrong site. Envy is frowned upon here, as is the notion that you’re entitled to other people’s property, even if they’re rich “Hollywood-types.”

LMAO!!! You are determined to “prove” it can’t be done.

Then show it can.

Cutting 1.2 trillion of more off Fedzilla spending seems like a very conservative thing to do. Right? We are for smaller government, balanced budgets are we not?

That's what they say. So where will the $1.2 trillion in cuts come from?

But even with $1.2 trillion in spending cuts you will still need close to 100% tariff rates unless you also go with fees. And if you do then what will the fees be on?

Excellent move.

Some people will balk at this but those are the same people who love cheap labor pouring over the border.

It's about time we invested in America and Americans!

“Then show it can.”

Bite me. If you want to see how it worked before & extrapolate then have at it. Since you are convinced it won’t work there’s nothing I can type here to change your mind. The progressive income tax is a crime against nature & should be replaced with the system used previously adjusted to today’s markets, etc.

Have a nice day.

Vote Trump

Has nothing to do with envy. It has everything to do with the nation moving further down the road towards a fascist Plutocracy and the establishment of an aristocracy.

We breed the political class through things like ‘legacy admissions’ to top tier colleges. We don’t need them to be funded by huge megalith family fortunes, creating more professional politicians and boys club millionaire corporate board members.

I would actually be very surprised if you personally knew somebody who’s net worth would trigger the estate taxes.

Even with that, there are ways to avoid the death tax through endowments and foundations. It’s the death tax prepaid through charitable acts.

Like I indicated before, I’m against death taxes on family farms based on land evaluation, family run businesses based on projections and current assets, including goodwill.

Death taxes have been around in some form or another for well over 2000 years - excepting at some point going backwards it was totally capricious.

Still, I’m voting Trump.
