Donald Trump is expected to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan R-Wis., Friday, two highly placed Republican sources tell Fox News -- just days after the Republican presidential nominee declined to back Ryan when asked in an interview.

Ryan will face primary challenger Paul Nehlen in next Tuesday’s primary election for his congressional seat. Trump is expected to endorse the 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee at an event in Green Bay.
While Ryan picked up the endorsement of Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Trump declined to endorse Ryan when asked in an interview Tuesday with The Washington Post.
“I like Paul. I like Paul. But these are horrible times for our country. We need very strong leadership. We need very, very strong leadership. And I’m just not quite there. I’m not quite there yet,” Trump said.

Why at this point? I guess he’s afraid he’ll have egg on his face if Ryan wins over his no endorsement.

The GOPe NeverTrumpers will still continue to hate and sabotage you even if you do endorse this high minion of theirs Donald.
And it will lose you more current supporters than it will gain you from undecided establishmentarians.
I do not think this is a mistake. Remember how Cruz got booed for his non-endorsement. No harm in doing this.

He’s being pressured to do it by his campaign staff and his advisors Newt, Rudy etc. Honestly I hate myself for saying it but Trump probably needs to do it. WI voters will do what they want about Ryno. Trump has got to win in Nov. Losing is not an option.
For me that would be it. Ryan has Punked him at every opportunity and he May endorse him. Hell no...

He might be going along because Ryan appeared at Republican Convention and said how important it is to defeat Hillary, but Ryan has also undermined Trump so many times. I’d stay out of it. So many scumbags in the Republican party who are more enemies against anyone who challenges demonic Dems.
I thought he had already endorsed Nehlen.
I think the best thing ANYONE can say in primaries is
“I wish the best of luck to all the primary candidates and I will endorse the winner.”
