Wow, I need to get banned there too!

You’re right, it’s not William F. Buckley’s NRO.

And on FR today, the anti-Ryan comments beat the anti-Hillary ones 326,273 to 1.

That’s stupid. They’re eliminating anyone who does not use facebook - which is a huge number of people.

They want to be able to identify you.

This is the step before "Trusted Computing".

Officially, Facebook has always required “real” names and identities for its individual user accounts. That was a huge difference from “MySpace” which had become clogged with countless fake accounts. How closely or consistently that is enforced, I don’t know. I am on there, occasionally, just for family and alumni connections. Some acquaintances (former classmates etc.) do use pseudonyms or just first/middle names to retain a certain degree of anonymity, although their friends and family know who they are.

I suspect it’s not hard to maintain an account with a pseudonym as long as it is not a spam oriented account that might get reported.

Facebook requires you to log in with your fake book account.

They want to populate a database of detractors.

I have an account I set up long ago. No real info was given. I guess the account is still active, but I don’t use it.

Facebook is for losers.

They were doing QUITE WELL on Disqus - a few weeks ago I was having heating ‘discussions’ on 3 threads regarding whether to vote for Trump or Hillary, at least 60 postings of mine.

Then, POOF, they were all DELETED.

They had NO PROBLEM doing away with opposition (much like some political party we all hate), so I struggle as to what their ‘problem’ is.

They can join Hot Air in the dust bin of sites I avoid.

Great insight, POF.

I completely missed that.

Lame. I don’t have a facebook or intend to get one soon. Not that I’ve commented on NRO articles lately, but I’d like the option. I like disqus. I don’t want to have to get a facebook with a fake name to be able to speak my mind.

Our local Gannett newsrag did that a few years ago- required Facebook to comment. Topics that used to get hundreds of comments and replies dropped to a few dozen at most, and others went from a handful to zero. And most of them trended leftward; apparently conservatives in general eschew Facebook. As I will continue to do.

They know that readers like privacy when commenting politically.

Especially if you want your vehicle undamaged, your house not burned down and to keep your job...

I was banned from commenting at NRO a couple of months ago.

I was banned from Breitbart the same way, and have no clue why. I emailed them a number of times asking why but did not get the courtesy of even an acknowledgement.
