Donald Trump's campaign chairman Paul Manafort acknowledged that "there's a conflict within the Trump campaign" over the Republican presidential nominee's hesitation to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin for reelection. But Manafort insisted that the two are "very good friends."
"Of course he's trying to bridge the party with Paul Ryan," Manafort told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America." "But Paul Ryan is running against someone who's not going to win but is a strong supporter of Mr. Trump."
In an interview with The Washington Post on Tuesday, Trump refused to endorse for reelection Republicans who have criticized him, such as Ryan and Sen. John McCain of Arizona. He also praised Ryans GOP opponent, Paul Nehlen, for running a very good campaign.
Im just not quite there yet, Trump said of backing Ryan.

I would take this to mean Manafort is the conflict.
Only the media could find fault with Trump’s loyalty character trait.
Manafort should stop attacking conservatives
or go to bed with McCain and Romney and Bush and Cruz.
Is this a joke?
Come on..Trump was being Trump and slamming Ryan with his own words. Manafort -Don’t pretend otherwise.
When is everyone going to learn..Trump holds a Grudge. Let’s see how much when it comes to back stabber Gingrich.
This should be resolved on Tuesday.
RYAN DID NOT ENDORSE TRUMP IN HIS PRIMARY.
I really, really, really hate Paul Ryan.
Just looking for a foot in your mouth answer. The question shouldn’t go to Manafort to start with.
The media is giddy now and you will see more hyping up of the Never Trumper losers stories.
Republican Strategist Calls Trump a Loudmouthed D**k During Interview With Anderson Cooper

Republican strategist Liz Mair has made no secret of her distaste for Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee, much less the victor in the November general election.
Mair runs an anti-Trump super PAC and has made great efforts to get under the billionaire real estate moguls skin.
That said, she had no interest in sugarcoating her never-Trump stance during an interview Wednesday evening with CNNs Anderson Cooper in which she called Trump a loudmouthed d**k.
Are grudges against GOPe traitors a bad thing?
The Trump campaign can ease up a bit now since the message has been sent.
Manafort’s a smart guy. The leverage isn’t at the primary, it’s post-November (assuming Trump wins).
The true leverage is denying Ryan the Speakership in 2017.
I am with Trump on this. If Ryan won’t endorse him, why should he endorse Ryan?
Reciprocity is a basic principle that has been sorely lacking in our government in recent years.
By7 the way...where's Mr. Cruz these days...polishing his resume.
Would like to see his school report cards...that comment section...."Works well with others"....
People are offended by the fact that Cruz encouraged people to “vote for the constitutionalist”. Which you could interpret as an indirect endorsement.
They seem to have not noticed that Ryan didn’t even come that close. Nor has McCain. Ryan and McCain need to be retired from office.
I don’t know that Trump should waste his energy on these guys, he should tightly focus his attacks on Hillary and Obama and the DNC. But we should not forget Ryan and McCain. They have a reckoning coming their way. Not because they didn’t endorse Trump but because they have refused to fight for us.

Yes, they think they finally have Trump on the ropes.
Yet, more and more slime oozes out about his opponents such as Khizr Khan and many others.
Rope-A-Dope.
Manfort has no conflict with Trump.
The only "endorsement" (see title) was by Pence.
It is unfortunate that for a split second, this team had two opposing positions. If there is/was any conflict that is what should have been at its center. (per "Politics is a Team Sport").
It’s ABC news
Not a credible organization
“Ryan begged the Repubs not to make him speaker.”
As in Tom Sawyer conning boys to do his work.
