The main thrust of the article seems to be that Reagan understood that political battles are at the root spiritual wars ( the dissonance between communism and democracy) He rightly pointed out that communism isn’t just a different economic system but is truly evil, and by evil he meant a demonic scheme to separate men from God. Furthermore, the point is that until you call out true evil for what it is and rally against it, you cannot and will not win. The Republican Party has not learned this lesson. Reagan understood political battles to be spiritual battles. How many self professed political conservatives truly believe in the existence of evil and believe America to be “One nation under God?”
