Reveling in the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision to strike down a Texas abortion law, a leading abortion rights activist on Monday cast the ongoing political battle as nothing short of a fight over "American values."
Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, told a breakfast meeting of the Texas Democratic delegation that the "fight is not about abortion." Rather, she said, "this is a clash of fundamentally different ways of looking at the world."
She then pointed to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and other top GOP leaders.
"You have men like Donald Trump, Mike Pence, Rick Perry and Greg Abbott who believe that women have one place -- in the home, having as many children as possible," she said. "So that men can keep control and impose their worldview on us."
She castigated Texas' top Republicans as "extreme ideological zealots." A

Especially since many top women executives work for Trump, presumably not from home. Also his own daughter has 3 children and a high profile career. You would think Trump would have told Ivanka to stay home.
I've never heard Trump or the other men mentioned telling women to "have as many children as possible".
How do they get away with being such hysterical drama queens?
She’s so full of it, I bet her eyes are brown....................
Which explains why he has his daughter working as an executive in his company.
Just more lying liberal insane crap. It is all they can do.
That’s why Ivanka is running Trump Post Office Tower project for him. So she can be a stay at home mom. Trump appreciates the manage from a distance hands off approach. /s/
With 25% unemployed and even more not in the work force, I’d say they are used to it.
Liberals want to leave babies in abortion dumpsters.
Another child molester. Abortion is the ultimate child abuse. Drilling a hole in the skull, sucking the brain out, scalding the baby with hot lye and then cutting the body up for sale - that’ an abortion.
She says that like it's a bad thing.
How awful. Having a happy family and a happy home.
Better to have a big job at PPA and murder any inconveniences in utero?
Maybe it's time Trump brings back some of Reagan's one-liners for this campaign. 0:45 on the clip below
She’s cranky that the charges against David were dropped.
Exactly. I have as many children as God chose to bless us with. I was at home until I started working part time last year. While the income has helped us through a time of great transition, it hasn’t helped our home life. Our household is more chaotic and less efficient with me gone in the evenings.
Lots of precious children and a loving mom around to care for them is a wonderful privilege.
From the moment of conception (a positive pregnancy test), you award EBT benefits, housing, O'phone, and healthcare, etc.... to the mother. If she has an abortion, it has to be taken away because she's no longer pregnant.
Watch the 180 pivot.
Trump would want to see the civic world, inasmuch as it is reasonably engaged, to “keep” both men and women in homes, on the streets, in executive suites, wherever else they may be carrying on reasonable activities.
All these straw-chauvinists get pretty tiring after a while.
That is a lie but they don’t care and they know it is a lie. “If you tell a lie loud and long enough, a fool will believe it.”
No but there is a 20 year old quote where Trump says that letting his wife work would be a dangerous thing. That's probably is what they're using against him.
Perverse incentives has something to do with it all right, but is a pan-welfare state necessary?
It’s a bigger issue here; it’s the denigration of the very idea of children. Before you can hate something, you have to be refusing to love it.
How about, "Black churches will burn"....oh, wait
