The property tax bills are already outrageous. That’s why I moved out of state, seven years ago.

Mine are not outrageous, they are a little less than they were 24 years ago, when I bought my house and I have made a lot of improvements. I got a small discount when I turned 65.

I live in Notchicago, Illinois.

I have never been to Canada and not sure what their VAT is. I have, been, to Scandinavia and paid the prices that result form their approximately 25% VAT. It's painful. Even more so with a family of four. McDonalds will run you $60.

By the time all the taxes are totaled, it can be up to 15% in certain provinces.

Some are lower than others.

My house on Long Island is valued at $300,000... taxes @ $10,000+....

Of course we have the highest paid teachers and police in the world... most making $100,000+ with pensions at or close to $100,000... with great medical as well!

Once my daughter graduates... I am outta here...

They are paying other peoples pensions while not being able to save for your retirement plus those getting the pensions will vote for the Democrats to tax you more to fund their generous retirement.

The AVERAGE teacher at the local highschool is over 100k.
I suspect the pension is also generous!

Read and barf! Ill public school, teachers salaries.

Not just the high end, some are pitifully low.

“I have voted for every park, every library, all the school improvements, for light rail, for anything that will make this city better. But now I can’t afford to live here anymore,” said Austin artist Gretchen Gardner

PRICELESS!

Thank you.

Here in southern UT we pay $2600 on a $600,000 place. However,
it is terrible here with scorpions, snakes, heat, Mormons and so forth. Stay away.
