FULL TITLE: The creator of the viral pro-Trump act ‘USA Freedom Kids’ now plans to sue the campaign
Within hours of their performance at a Donald Trump rally in Pensacola, Fla., last January, the U.S.A. Freedom Kids were a sensation.
You remember the video: Three preteen girls in star-spangled outfits crisply working through simple choreography as they lip-synced an upbeat update to "Over There."
That infectious performance kicked off a flurry of media appearances. The Freedom Kids told "Inside Edition" that Trump told them that he planned to listen to their CD all night. The group, which had been around for about 2½ years by that point, was a viral sensation largely inextricable from Trump himself.
Now, though, the relationship is different. Jeff Popick, father of the smallest Freedom Kid and author of "Freedom's Call" (the song performed at the Trump rally), told The Washington Post by phone on Monday that he planned to file a lawsuit against the campaign for violating its agreement with the group.
"This is not a billion-dollar lawsuit," Popick said. "I'm doing this because I think they have to do the right thing. And if this means having to go through the court system to enforce them doing the right thing, then that's what I have to do. I'm not looking to do battle with the Trump campaign, but I have to show my girls that this is the right thing."
Popick is quick to explain that the agreement was not written down, but, instead, involves promises from various agents of the Trump campaign which he says were then broken.

Considering he takes gigs without written contract, he’s probably a degenerate gambler and blew the groups money at the track.

When I was a kid, a handshake agreement was considered as binding as the paper it eventually got written upon. But darned few went all the way to mutual satisfaction without something written.

Who knows... how on earth does one expect to win a suit on the basis of unrecorded promises.
He might instead teach his girls that if you want it to be enforceable, put it in writing.
Well, I can see this happening given the way campaigns go. In all honestly if this isn’t a Dem plant it would have made a lot more sense to cut the guy a check for 10 grand and make this go away rather than it get to this point....unless it is a complete fabrication...but even then...
If they were to perform in exchange for publicity, then that should have been the terms that were agreed upon. It sounds like all they wanted in exchange was a venue to sell their albums.
A “word” used to be sufficient among gentlemen.
Maybe the Trump team can work a quid pro quo of some other kind. Will they let the work be sold in future with the Trump name on it, in exchange for the table that had been forgotten? This might even have been negotiated without need for suing.

Guess he never heard the one about the verbal agreement not being worth the paper it's printed on.

And people will ultimately view it as a “he said she said who knows” issue.
If the agreements were verbal, hate to break this to poppa, right or wrong, legally you are going to lose.
A verbal agreement is only worth the paper its not written down on.
