FLASHBACK: Birtherism: Where it all began
DNC and then Politico ^ | 04/24/11 | DNC and then Politico

Posted on 07/25/2016 7:59:04 PM PDT by NoLibZone

Just when it appeared that public interest was fading, celebrity developer Donald Trump has revived the theory that President Barack Obama was born overseas and helped expose the depth to which the notion has taken root—a New York Times poll Thursday found that a plurality of Republicans believe it.

If you haven’t been trolling the fever swamps of online conspiracy sites or opening those emails from Uncle Larry, you may well wonder: Where did this idea come from? Who started it? And is there a grain of truth there?

The answer lies in Democratic, not Republican politics, and in the bitter, exhausting spring of 2008.

As president, Trump could do all kinds of things to get to the bottom of Barry’s origins, I expect, in the US archives under his control, by influencing HI state officials and by influencing Kenyan officials in various ways.

Someone worked hard on this. Original research.

Some people have original hard copies of the Honolulu papers. They are afraid to come forward.

So you’re saying that there never was a birth announcement - it was planted after the muzzies decided to run him for president. That makes sense.

There are many anomalies with the announcements, and I am not going to waste my time pointing them all out, but what I can tell you is this. I went to Hawaii and visited the Honolulu library and the library in Kahului on Maui and what we found was that the announcements containing the one’s arrival where exactly the same in both papers. That only occurred for that publication as we examined several weeks either side of that date. They were all mixed up. That makes perfect sense because they are different papers with different adverts and people working for those newspapers. A statistical impossibility for all the announcements to be arranged in the same order.

Not having read this entire thread, two things I will address. I didn’t speak in depth, while in person, with Library of Congress staff about the physical newspapers - I asked if they had the original papers because in an online query session I had with a staffer, it was mentioned that a very good (paper) copy existed at the LOC. So, I took that to mean that they had the DATE that I was asking about - for why would that person suggest to me that I read a “very good” condition paper which was different than the one I was requesting info on? The fellow at the desk in the LOC got very reactive with me when I mentioned the online query exchange, after he had told me that the LOC did not have the physical paper copy.

Second, the daddy of obama would matter only if Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann were indeed married. IF they were never married, presuming obama Jr were indeed born in the US, then obama Jrs citizenship would follow his mothers un-conditionally- and it was thus at the time of the forming of our Constitution. A bastard child held the same citizenship as it’s mother-period. Which would have made of obama Jr a natural born citizen. Personally my view has always been that due to all the drama about his birth certificate, coupled with so many “coincidences” surrounding every aspect of his birth documentation and parents early lives, that he may have been born in Canada. MAY have been. He may have been born in an unwed mothers home under false parental info right here in the states. I think one of those two scenarios is possible, particularly as there has never been a copy of obamas parents marriage certificate unearthed, and due to Stan Ann being in Washington signing up for courses within two weeks of giving birth.

A ‘natural born’ US citizen requires two, US citizen parents birthing their child on US soil. It is only ‘new age’ reading of the ‘law’ that pretends otherwise. And the child followed the father... ‘natural born’ is akin to a birthright and ONLY two US citizen parents can bestow that right.

I don’t believe that you are correct about this. I had read extensively on the topic, and the citizenship of a bastard child is unconditionally the same as the mothers. Even in ancient English laws. It is a MODERN thing to extend the unwed fathers citizenship to a bastard child, by choice of the parents.

The announcements were in the 8/13 (Sat) & 8/14 (Sun), obama was born on the 4th. It was not remarkable to see an announcement that quickly after the DOB.

The topic is not ‘citizenship’ but ‘natural born’ US citizenship. Our founders were old ‘white’ men, remember... it was not until the 19th amendment where woman was given the right to vote. The ‘natural born’ clause requirement was placed in our Constitution, from the get go. The ‘natural born’ clause came from Vattel not English law.

Begin with a little light reading, Horace Binney’s The Alienigence of The United States under the present naturalization laws, second edition, 1853. The preface should get you started. And I will mention Rome - but you may not know why.

I know what the founders intent was, and where it came from. Furthermore, I have lived my life accepting the founders intent that my US citizen parents did not bestow upon me ‘natural born’ citizenship. I was birthed in Germany, my father was in the military. DO not mess with our Constitution... The founders intent was we the people are government and only two US citizen parents can bequeath to their child ‘natural born’, US citizenship, by birthing said child upon US soil. God, who is the source of unalienable rights, does not have favor upon those who snuff at birthrights.

Claiming that ‘natural born’ US citizenship originates from mother is ‘new age’... Not from God.

First - stop assuming that you know things. You don’t know, in this case, what the laws in the US were back then. I do. I, like certain others here, have dedicated hundreds of hours to do actual research - NOT to read bits and pieces of opinions that fit into our own ideal of what this is.

In every community, through time, everywhere. Then, now, and always, a bastard child carried the citizenship of it’s mother. If, for example, no other reason, than that it’s father could not be proven to be a particular individual.

It is simple. Regardless of your imperfect understanding of citizenship laws, and the laws of nature. In fact - because there were no paternity tests - under the law a unmarried woman could not simply state a man was the father of her illegitimate child and then that child would assume all the allegiance of the accused father. No, the mother would have to shoulder the burden of her bastard child (although court was an option, it was not a path most such women would ever consider) and she was not punished by that child being denied citizenship equal to her own. That is a fact - historically. Research it. I have.

For the record, the birth certificate was registered with the state on August 8th and the birth announcements appeared in the August 13th Honolulu Advertiser and the August 14th Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
