Come to think of it, I went to school (engineering) with quite a few students from the Middle East. They partied like everyone else. I wondered about their lifestyles after they returned home, which was most of their plans except the ones from Iran. This was the early 80’s.

They do enforce the death penalty, and in an interesting way. The condemned is hanged sometime during the month, the body is cremated, and then the family is called at the end of the month to pick up the ashes. The condemned doesn’t know when he will be hanged until the time of the hanging, and there is no publicity.

I AGREE!!! Unlike the 47% that run this country, the Japanese are not into ‘criminal justice reform’ and don’t have a ‘Chinese Lives Matter’ movement crippling their police department. You don’t go on a MURDER BINGE and score political points - not there, not at all.

Point taken. (no pun intended).
My supposition was based upon the very high casualty count; as I couldn’t imagine that many dead and injured from just one assailant w/a knife. Of course, that was before it was announced that the victims were all apparently handicapped individuals at a medical facility. Horrible and very sad!
My experience is that the emotionally fragile repeat the zeitgeist they feel it and they do it.
Sort of like all these unconnected Moslims feeling Jihadi.
