VANITY (cuz me)—Say Clinton is Forced Out... How Does that Change the Forecast?

Posted on 07/25/2016 12:03:09 PM PDT by John Robinson

Conversation. It isn't likely to happen regardless of how toxic Clinton has become nor will continue to become, so consider it an idle musing. To what effect would various scenarios play out on the electorate, e.g. elevating Kaine to the top of the ticket, swapping in Bernie, etc. Would that messaging irreparably damage the 2016 Dem presidential ticket, and to what effect will any of this have on the downstream Dem picks?

I'm guessing there is a tinge of Barry Goldwater here, and with that, would future progressive tickets ultimately be empowered by a landslide loss in 2016?

Too Late To Turn Back Now
Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose

My mama told me
She said, “Son, please beware
There’s this thing called love
And it’s everywhere”

She told me, “It can break your heart
And put you in misery”
Since I met this little woman
I feel it’s happened to me
And I’m tellin’ you

It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love

I found myself wantin’ her
At least ten times a day
You know, it’s so unusual for me
To carry on this way

I’m tellin’ you, I can’t sleep at night
Wantin’ to hold her tight
I’ve tried so hard to convince myself
That this feelin’ just can’t be right
And I’m tellin’ you

It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe I believe, I’m fallin’ in love

It’s too late to turn back now oh, baby
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late, baby to turn back now I tell ya
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love

I wouldn’t mind it
If I knew she really loved me too
But I hate to think that I’m in love alone
And nothing that I can do

It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late, baby to turn back now I tell ya
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love

Ooh, baby, I tell ya
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love
It’s too late to turn back now
I believe, I believe, I believe, I’m fallin’ in love

It would be Bill if this were to happen, and Hillary would find herself the recipient of much adoration (and much more silent relief) for putting “her ‘parter’ first” while dropping out of this “hotly contestest race.” It would probably be the only true bump she’d see lol! And it would go to whoever she endorsed to “pick up the fight against ‘racism’ and ‘xenophobia’”. Excuse me now, channelling CNN has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Prior to becoming the nominee, it’s up to the convention and Sander’s delegates and voters would raise he*l over anyone else. Won’t happen. Once she’s nominated, it’s my understanding that the DNC replaces her with another candidate of their choice. That would be the time to do it, Joe Biden replacing a Hillary with health problems, exacerbated by attacks from the evil Republicans, might be difficult to beat. A far better candidate the she. It’s my understanding it would have to happen very soon, even now some states he’d appear I believe he might appear under Hillary’s “name” as the Democrat candidate. Don’t know what would happen to the VP candidate, but regardless of rules I suspect they’d keep him for VA

I truly believe they would have to rip this nomination out of her cold dead hands. There is no way she gets this close and gives it up. No way. Not for the country. Not for the party. Not for anything. This is 30 years of her life, wasted. She will NEVER go willingly. Never.

I seriously doubt there is anything that could oust Clinton THIS WEEK. I wonder how secure Kaine is, though.

If the DeRay private tweets are authentic, then yes. I don’t see that happening though, we’re not Turkey.

We are talking democrats here, they bend and break the law with abandon....

To replace Hillary on the ballot they could do lots of creatives things.

For example: Follow the Sentate ballot replacement they did in NJ; Elect a dead man like in MO; perhaps change the VP canidate etc.

There is nothing they will not try.

Brain teaser. If Bill Clinton got himself a medical emergency, something that got him at death’s door, would she suspend her campaign a la McCain, or just keep on going?

She needs to stay on the ticket. The meme of a white knight riding to the rescue of radical liberalism is too compelling.

Sanders would be their best bet, because he already has an organization in place, loyal supporters, name recognition, etc. More importantly though, he is an “anti-establishment” candidate like Trump (even if Sanders is a fake). They really need another “anti-establishment” candidate to be able to counter Trump on somewhat equal footing, otherwise they are going to be constantly playing defense.

The follow-up to a crushing defeat in 2016 at the (appropriately sized) hands of Trump would then be...? A rebirth of Progressivism with a harder socialists’ push? Especially if the economy tailspins in the next four years as is likely regardless of who is at the helm. The later point is inevitable, a can will only be kicked so far down the road.

Could be done, and it sounds not all that difficult:

Both the Republican and the Democratic parties have rules in their bylaws governing
how to fill the vacancy. The Party Chair calls a meeting of the National Committee, and
the Committee members at the meeting vote to fill the vacancy on the ticket. A candidate
must receive a majority of the votes to win the party’s nod.

With what has come out already, her getting off on the emails, which Comey, if he hadn't been bought off or threatened, and having worked in the Clinton Foundation before, the Benghazi killings, and she lied to the Congress committee investigation, and knowing both her and Bill sold secrets of our Government for their own personal foundation, I really don't see anything happening other than Trump going in as the 45th POTUS...there is no other solution to this situation...

It's good to talk, but reality sets in and Trump will be in the Oval Office....God's time, not ours!!!

What is it with the Internet and cat themes?

I'm not convinced WikiLeaks desires a Trump presidency. In fact, I'm almost certain they don't like the idea, but I'm pretty darn sure Julian Assange will not have a Clinton presidency. Full stop. and since it's Julian's baby, they'll try to engineer this with an out for the DNC.
