Well she did it, she killed Yahoo.

Now back to Google.

Mission accomplished.

They would have been better off keeping the Texas GTE properties than they will be paying almost 5 billion for some real estate and having to take some other struggling business lines that they are going to have to write off not too far down the road.

They used to have a decent Internet directory back in the early days of the Web. Then they got very annoying.

Well she made a half billion bucks doing it. I wouldn’t exactly call that loyalty.

I agree, in the early days Yahoo was my go-to search engine, but I haven’t really used the site for much in years. I guess they fell behind the times.

The question is, loyalty to whom?

She didn’t do Yahoo much good, but Google is better off.

Here is what Yahoo! used to look like - even before there was a Google. The whole World Wide Web was small enough to be held in a directory. We were all so much more innocent back then.

What exactly is Yahoo’s core business?

I hope they modify the format...It used to be easy to maneuver around in there and the comments sections were great...In the last two years, it has gone to hell...

20 Years ago today, the founders of Yahoo! were on the cover of WIRED magazine. Anybody remember Bob Dole and Jack Kemp?

This "internet thing" was really going to take off.

Sukkahz!!!

Goodbye Verizon, with this new debt and “assets”,
You’ll soon be lost beyond the horizon,
To the land of AOL/Time Warner - stock nobody ever puts eyes on.

Early Yahoo was good. I have an account that I check maybe once a year if I remember.

I think she was working for Google the whole time, so the loyalty was clearly to them. She raped Yahoo to death, with a grin on her smug face. She betrayed everyone she worked with over there - her soullessness is stunning.

What does Yahoo do? Would anyone miss them if they didn’t exist?

I subscribe to a bunch of Yahoo discussion groups, all technical in nature. However they really messed up the format a while back if you try to use the web site instead of the emails. Searching is almost impossible.
