Truer words were never spoken. It has indeed been very revealing about the character and political leanings of all the players.
I attended a Portman fundraiser in 2012, just after the Rs won the senate. I asked him, given that Obama would veto any repeal of Obamacare, what would the Rs do.
Absolutely no answer. It was clear he didn’t want to do anything. BTW, the fundraiser was at the home of a major Indian doctor who has been pushing for an expansion of H1B visas. (Can you guess from which country?)
I’d like to think Trump is pulling him over, but I think the polling flipped earlier than that.
“I hear rumblings that some want to see Perry challenge Cruz for the Senate seat next election. That will be tasty!”
If that happens I will support Perry.
To the author: It’s “Whoa” not “Woah”. Good grief.
“Gingrichs speech that followed showed the huge difference what there is between a seasoned statesman and an immature power hungry politician which is what Ted is.”
Good point.
Too cute by half

Hugh Hewitt says he’s on the Trump Train, but you’d hardly know it with the type of commentary he carries on with, and some of the yuck-yucks he spews out from time to time.
“Too cute by half.”
Did I say something wrong?
>I hear rumblings that some want to see Perry challenge Cruz for the Senate seat next election. That will be tasty!
After what Ted did at the convention, I put aside $1000 to denote to his primary opponent in 2008. But I expect I won’t have to. Ted Cruz won’t even run.
I’d rather have Portman than Strickland in the Senate and as long as he keeps his head down and stays in his lane I’m willing to give Portman a pass...ymmv.
