It’s all relative, including the importance of Kasich. He’s not important if he is not necessary, and the presidential contest is between whoever the DEMs front, and Trump. Is Kasich vital and decisive in that contest? Nope.
I’d be fine with Kasich endorsing Trump. He’s a popular Ohio governor. I’ll never like the guy for not honoring his pledge, but he the goal is to beat Hillary.
Popular vote is counted too in deeming how much of a mandate it means. It would be exceeding stupid to turn it down.
I believe that has already been noted as untrue.

Good point. If Trump takes the state without Kasich it will make him look irrelevant.
And if he doesn't mobilize the Ohio GOP to help Trump, and Trump wins Ohio anyway, it will be obvious that Kasich is irrelevant.
