Russia's New Conservative Allies in the US: The 'Alt-Right' Phenomenon
Russia-Insider ^ | 7/23/2016 | Vincent DeLarge

Posted on 07/23/2016 2:07:07 PM PDT by orchestra

For those that have been paying attention, the rise of the Alt-Right is as surprising, as it is entirely expected

What is the Alt-Right?

If you listen to the mainstream media, the Alt-Right is the birth of an American far right Frankenstein that was mid-wifed by Donald Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric in this election cycle.

But what we are seeing now is bigger than even Donald Trump. It is part of a massive paradigm shift that has been underway for some time now. For those that have been paying attention, it is clear that nationalist, patriotic movements are everywhere ascendant in the West.

The endless migration of millions of 3rd world men into Europe, the callousness of the Elite class to the concern its Natives, and the fever-pitched identity politics of the Regressive Left have brought us to a crossroads… It should come as little surprise to nobody that the native populations of the West have started asking some hard questions about their own identity.

"Shadow Stats"? Listen, go see if you can find a chart prepared by people who have given up the short wave radio for telephones. '

Shadow Stats - the name carries its own warning. LOL

See post 29 from Bloomberg.

Putin is an incompetent loser.

You present one graph: GDP.

You neglect to mention that a substantial portion of Russia's GPD is petroleum exports.

You've presented an incomplete picture, since the fall in petroleum directly mirrors your chart.

I would agree that Putin has fumbled, but in the area of increasing freedom and removal of the Soviet punative civilian controls. If he had removed those, Russia would have been the new America. Millions would have flocked there. Russia would rapidly be rivaling China and America in the 2020's.

xplains why former megaphone holders like Mark Levin choke on the words nationalism and populism (nationalist and populist crap is what I heard him describe them as).

Levin is a globalist piece of crap. He's really awful.

I presented the graph (GDP) (post 29) in response to the claim by marvel5 that Putin had performed GDP miracles (post 23).

I agree with you that "Putin has fumbled." I have never claimed that Putin is worse than Stalin or some of the other commies who preceded him. I have said only that he is an incompetent, that he has created a Kleptocracy, and that he (or his henchman) have committed acts of terror and murder. The world knows these things.

As you can see, I have no use for the guy.

If Putin had taken me under his wing as an advisor, and listened, perhaps Russia would have been the shining jewel of Europe.

I would have had Putin offer a Bill of Rights like ours, only the 17th Amendment would be struck. All the regions would be states, replete with States Rights, overshadowed of course by the previous amendments. I might have put some teeth into the 10th amendment. SCOTUS justices would have recall-election options. The Second Amendment would include full-on military weapons (explosives would be granted, but only to the very vetted). Any ballistic handheld weapon would not require as much vetting. You know, keep the government honest and all.

Strong teeth in the 4th and 5th amendments. A new branch, the Oversight Branch, might be included, with the only ability of that branch being to investigate (with full granting of permissions to everything) and prosecution and removal of the corrupt House and Senate members — and the President.

Various ‘what if’ thinking above.... learning from the mistakes our country made...

But if he had even only budged the system towards more individual liberties, he might have set off a major immigration of the best and brightest Western minds who are sick of what we have become.

However, Russia has a different culture than ours. They seem to be less able to handle freedom. Our culture was created with freedom in mind, theirs... not so much. It might not work over there, as well, not until he got a major influx of like minded immigrants.

I am having trouble finding anything to disagree with you about.

It's not too late. Putin should hire you tomorrow. ;-)

But, we know that that's not likely to happen. He's too far down that "other" road, the road that involves dealing with gangsters and all of the homicides that come with them. They are not going to let him open up the economy to real participation by real people.

So, I assume that, unless he requests your services, things in Russia will just continue to decline. Maybe his successor will be a stronger leader. The Russian people certainly deserve better.

>Putin is an incompetent who has destroyed the Russian economy. Instead of permitting a market economy to develop, he chose to create a Kleptocracy.

They tried a free market system and all that happened US connected oligarchs cornered the market and strangled Russia. Russia’s always been a corrupt half savage state but living conditions for the average Russian have increased greatly since Putin took over. Ask any Russian about life in the 90s vs since Putin took over. Everyone I’ve met praise Putin to the skies for what he did.

Something I came to accept when I accepted nationalism is that each state’s people are different from each other. Some do very well with market style economies and others do better with semi-corrupt but family based systems. There is no one size fits all system out and we need to let states pick their own best system. States that pick well will prosper and states that pick poorly will suffer, but all should be given the right to choose.

Your chart shows when the US crashed the price of oil to try and strangle Russia over the Ukraine. The Russian people are still quite pissed at us for that.

Russia has a different culture than ours

Russia, whether under the Tsars, the Communists, or the present regime, was never a free nation in the American sense. The fall of the Russian monarchy by the Bolsheviks was the nation's greatest tragedy. Unlike Poland or Hungary, the full force of Communist brutality was imposed on a nation that never had a large middle class, any tradition of representative government, the rule of law, or individual freedom. Stalin's killing spree lasted longer and was bloodier than Hitler or Genghis Khan. Nation building, in the sense of establishing democracy, is a fantasy as much as it was in Iraq or Afghanistan.

They are an intelligent and cultured people. I know, I lived with a family in St Pete for 3 months.

Unlike the Muslims, who lack education, intelligence, or culture, these people can be taught.

It would take a generation, though.

Well, that's a different take. Poor Putin - just a 97 pound weakling sitting on the beach minding his own business and along comes the mean, tough USA who knocked Putin's umbrella down and kicked him off the beach. Is that the story that Putin's telling the Russian people?

I don't think so. Putin's just an incompetent. Why did he allow his country to become so totally dependent upon the price of oil, which any idiot knows fluctuates over time? Why did he choose against diversification in the Russian economy?

Doesn't your explanation sound just like the excuse that we are hearing from the ruling thieves in Venezuela?

Obama overthrew the elected Ukrainian government and tried to seize the Crimea. Putin grabbed it first and then protected the Russians in the east of the country. For those sins Obama tried to wreck the Russian economy.

Yeah, I get your explanation. The problems in the Russian economy are not due to Putin's incompetence; Russia's economic problems are being caused by that mean, tough Obama who is kicking poor Putin and his economy around like a soccer ball.

I don't think Putin would like that explanation. Remember, he's the guy who is always trying to cast himself as the tough guy, the rugged guy who takes off his shirt and wrestles with wild animals. You may be right about Putin, but he's not going to like your explanation.

I think Putin would rather be remembered as incompetent than be remembered as the weakling that you're describing.

The reference to the Trotskyist takeover of the culture is spot on. To paraphrase: Every time I hear the word racism, I unlock my Browning.

Do you ever question how did poor student Lenin created the revolution against such an establishment?
