Could Paul Ryan Go The Way Of Eric Cantor?

Many political experts say House Speaker Paul Ryan will beat his Republican challenger during Wisconsin's August 9 partisan primary. Matt Streb isn't so sure.

Streb, a political science professor at Northern Illinois University, notes that Sarah Palin endorsed Ryan's challenger, Paul Nehlin, because Ryan was slow to endorse Donald Trump, the GOP's presidential nominee. But Streb isn't thinking about Palin.

During an interview with WNIJ, Streb raised the specter of another House leader who lost a primary. "You're going to make me say Eric Cantor again," he laughs. Cantor, then-House Majority leader, was defeated by a Tea Party challenger in 2014. Streb says Ryan must be thinking about Cantor, too, because his own approval rating dipped below 50% in one poll.

Could Paul Ryan Go The Way Of Eric Cantor?

It can't happen too soon for that RINOcrat.

Fingers crossed, but I am not holding out much hope. The Walker/Ryan machine is pretty powerful in this state.

Nah. Cantor wasn’t paying attention. Ryan is.

Plus the numbnuts running against him is not a good candidate.

Don’t forget the recalls that happened up here. The RINO machine is battle tested and will prevail.

I will also guarantee that Trump will not win this state. Walker will see to that.

Like Ted Cruz....I believe the voters of Wisconsin will defeat Paul Ryan in his upcoming primary election!!! The only thing that can save Paul Ryan is if he dclares he is 100% behind Donald J. Trump. If he maintains his present status, Paul Ryan will be handily defeated!!! Scott Walker saw the light, Paul Ryan and Ted Cruz were blind to the light of truth and loyalty!!!

Ryan was “slow to endorse Donald Trump”?! He still has NOT endorsed Trump. Cantor him is the best he can hope for, run out of the Republican party is more like it. Like Lyn’ Ted, he has no place as Speaker, as a Republican, and I trust the good citizens of his district to see his treason to everyone and Cantor him on August 9. Good riddance to Ryan, hello Rep. Nehlen.

I’ll give my vote: I hope he just disappears. Don’t like him but he also has not done a good job for us.

Who you think would replace him? The majority of the caucus is in accord with him.
