Hope your family is okay in München. I have friends there as well... So sad!
I have family in Germany and visit regularly. Really makes you think twice if you want to risk going there.
My wife is from the Oberpfalz and I learned German in deep Oberbayern living in Bavaria in an only German speaking capacity for about 3 years. When I heard the accent, I thought it was Bavarian, but confirmed with my wife to be sure.
It sounds like all family members are out safe, but it definitely has us thinking about when we want to visit again.
