Charles Krauthammer said that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) "blew it" at the Republican National Convention with his address in which he did not endorse Donald Trump.
"What Cruz delivered was the longest suicide note in American political history and this morning he added an addendum," said Krauthammer.
Krauthammer weighed in on America's Newsroom this morning after Cruz spoke to Texas delegates (some of them angry), doubling down on his message from last night and going even further.

Charles is right more often than he is wrong. He’s right about Cruz.

Best political speech in decades. And no one will ever remember what he said, only what he didn’t say.
That’s just the thing that grates the most.
He is a Canadian, not an American. He never had any business running for the Presidency.
Why is it so important? Unity, and not giving ammunition to the other side. It’s about showing you are a team player, and fighting for a common goal, not personal gain. I thought being a Christian meant being forgiving, not vindictive. He’s parading himself as an icon of virtue, but he is not living that way. He is not a good example of a Republican, gives conservatism a bad name, and is not acting in a way that deserves to be designated Christian.
Cruz may be a bit of a loo-loo, but he’s not stupid. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he expects it to benefit him in the long term. (That’s the political “long term,” not the economic “long term” in which we are all dead.)
I think Cruz made a strategic error and this is it for him, but you never know.
This Texan will not be supporting him ever again! There are times whey one’s self is less important then the good of the nation...that is a patriot.
To show party unity and to encourage what is left of his following to support Trump. His non-endorsement helped Trump more, perhaps Trump and Cruz realized that this was intentionally done.

Laura Ingram gave a much better speech, in fact perhaps the best speech of the convention.
Rudy’s is in contention. Newt’s was better than Ted’s but he didn’t rouse the crowd orgasmicly like Laura did.
I could be wrong but me thinks as long as the NWO ruling elite (Bush clan) and Wall Street banksters has breath that Ted Cruz lives politically
because giving the enemy any ammunition to beat Trump at this point is an abomination to the freedom of the country and Lyin Ted just did that after Trump gave him a top speaking slot at his convention

He will have to make it thru his re-election in two years and as all the Texan’s I have spoken to don’t take kindly to not pickin up a gun and join the fight when the indians have you surrounded.
Principles are fine but don’t win elections, if your looking for the PERFECT candidate you will never find them and never win an election.

It wouldn’t have been important IF he endorsed him, it’s important that he didn’t, because of what it says about Cruz.
His speech was basically saying “I hope we lose this year, so I can just keep running for President for the next four years. I like grandstanding, and it will be more fun if there’s a Democrat in power, though I’m willing to sabotage Trump too, if I think it will be good for me.”
If you’re saying that there’s a very good chance he’ll lose his reelection bid and fade into the sunset, I agree.
Nah. They hate Cruz, too. They were willing to use him briefly, when he was the only ammo left, but they hate him.
