Charles Krauthammer said that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) "blew it" at the Republican National Convention with his address in which he did not endorse Donald Trump.
"What Cruz delivered was the longest suicide note in American political history and this morning he added an addendum," said Krauthammer.
Krauthammer weighed in on America's Newsroom this morning after Cruz spoke to Texas delegates (some of them angry), doubling down on his message from last night and going even further.

I agree with his assessment here. I cannot accept that Texans will reward Cruz with another term as a Senator here. I think he’s worn out his welcome.

As much as I have come to despise Krauthammer in the last year, this is probably the most excellent headline seen anywhere this month.
It depends entirely how a Trump administration turns out. Four years of disaster and Ted looks like a prophetic genius.
It’s that moment when you realize all of his talk and rhetoric about “freedom, liberty, and constitution” is nothing except words, because he could do something to advance them but did not.

Yes, Ted laid out a wonderful principled conservative speech and then blew it out of the water. He’s a staunch conservative and constitutionalist who would rather see Hillary Clinton in the Whitehouse. Someone who bucks the law and trashes the constitution every chance he gets.
