“The only thing certain is that the good of the party or country did not influence him.”
Well said.
Also, no patriot is going to risk the freedom and liberty of his country to a Clinton. Ted Cruz is no patriot.
I agree. It sounded like it was cranked out by Microsoft EasySpeech 1.0.
Cruz is a snake oil salesman, politician... and he fooled some into thinking he's some sort of protector of the Constitution and that no one else can do that.
Cruz has become part of the establishment... and that's exactly what's so wrong in America these days.
He needs to slink off and be quiet... and we all should just forget about him and move on.
Cruz is not a Republican, he is a bitter selfish sore-loser who threw a tantrum that blew up in his face.
Cruz is what I call a SPRINO. That is a Self-Centered, Power-Hungry, Reprehensible, Imbecile, Negating, Order.
Cruz is everything that is wrong in the Republican Party. Caring only about his own power and glory, and trying to divide the party instead of unifying it.
I agree! What Ted showed everyone last night was that if he were President and a foreign leader said something he considered an insult about his wife or father, he could not make a rational decision to act in the best interest of the American people. He doesn’t have the temperament to be a strong leader of the United States.
Cruz had many options all better than the one he chose.
I’m glad Trump is ignoring him.
If Cruz is this great Constitutionalist who does he want nominating the next group of Supreme Court justices? Hillary or Donald? I think the choice is a no-brainer.
The problem isn’t that politicians can be bought. They problem is that they’re worth the expense.
After last night, I’ve lost a lot of respect for Senator Cruz. Your recognition of his problems were far more advanced than mine.
Seriously, I believe that Cruz and his supporters WANT Hillary to win. That is why Cruz reenergized the division.
Natural born citizen.
As we now know, not one of Ted Cruz’s parents held united States citizenship at the time Ted was born. One hundred percent of actual constitutionalityrushed to verify the story after Iit came out that Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson had given up her British citizenship and her United States citizenship in order to have Canadian citizenship and subsidized medical care when she was pregnant with Ted. That information removed an vestigial notion that Ted Cruz could be eligible for the office.
Ted is done. Forever. And nobody who wasn’t paying close enough attention to all of this to know what I was referring to engages in enough actual scholarship to berate anyone else on the academic merits of their position on the issue.
A fake conservative, fake Constitutionalist, and a fake American.
He was my candidate after Walker went amnestybot, but he lost me as I looked into the Corker bill, and he sealed the breach by hiring Neal Bush.
He’s doubly not eligible.
Foreign national father - strike one
Foreign birth - strike two
If his mother really did give up her citizenship, he has no claim to US citizenship at all
The enemy media in America will never admit that or present those facts to the public. The Fourth Estate has gleefully become the enemy inside the wire.
Cruz did mention the Constitution, he just failed to point out how important it is for those who love it to vote Trump-Pence.
Newt did so later.
Cruz was just too petty.
“Constitution scholar or not.”
As an aside, I fail to see why this designation, ‘Constitutional scholar’, is given much weight. The Constitution is a finite document at its core, and it doesn’t take a genius to read and understand the core document or the amendments and decisions that that pertain to it. Just like it doesn’t take a genius to get through law school. That’s not to say that there aren’t smart lawyers. I’m a doc. So what? It doesn’t take a genius to get through medical school, although there are some very smart docs. The point is that as a society we give way too much credit to people because of pedigree. We should be looking at their principles, how they treat others, how they treat family, what’s important to them, whether they are loyal, and whether or not we can trust them. Cruz, and Hillary, have shown that they are not trustworthy. I don’t care that they went to law school, or where they went to law school. It doesn’t make them smart, nor does it make them qualified to hold positions that allow them to alter the lives of other people.
On this board there are plenty of engineers and hard science people. It would be much more difficult, IMHO, for Ted Cruz to educate himself in engineering or a hard science than it would be for people on this board to argue before the Supreme Court.
What indication is there that Trump wouldn’t do things according to the Constitution? I’ve only heard him rail against Obama taking unconstitutional actions.
Cruz did mention the Constitution, but only in passing. I really wish he had gotten into the matter for the good of the nation.
But, when you’re up there for yourself, the rest is only window dressing.
Canada did not recognize dual citizenship until 1977.
No citizenship, no doctors. She sold her heritage for welfare benefits.
“If Cruz is this great Constitutionalist who does he want nominating the next group of Supreme Court justices? Hillary or Donald? I think the choice is a no-brainer.”
Except with respect to the Second Amendment, I don’t think SCOTUS can pervert the law further.
And as for guns against a tyrannical government, the tyrannical government can call in GPS-based airstrikes or launch rocket-propelled grenades aimed to explode behind you and the tree you thought would protect you.
Our rights can not be defended by arms, but only by a buying strike - no new house/car etc. - no new stock issue or mutual fund purchase - no expensive wine or vacation until we get a government we can live with.
Keep your jobs (and as much money from them as you can), but stop buying unnecessary things until:
1. taxes/fees/fines are permanently capped by Constitutional amendment
2. the courts are restrained by Constitutional amendment
If you wear your personal feelings on your sleeve, you have no business running for national office!
I preferred Cruz.
I voted for Rubio in the Florida primary because he was the most electable in the general election.
I will support Trump.
