The Daily Wires Ben Shapiro has an interesting alternative theory about Ted Cruzs speech to the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night: the Donald Trump campaign orchestrated the boos. Cruz camp confirms: Trump approved speech; Cruz was negotiating to help Trump w/ platform;
Trump orchestrated boos https://t.co/DiEMmaQRye Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) July 21, 2016
Shapiros source: the Cruz campaign.
Late Wednesday night, a source within the Cruz team informed Daily Wire exclusively that the Trump campaign had sandbagged Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) over his speech at the Republican National Convention. Cruz spoke at the RNC, where he congratulated Trump on his campaign victory, then spoke about the necessity for freedom and finally stated that Americans should vote your conscience. He was met with resounding boos on the floor of the convention; his wife Heidi had to be rushed from the room; according to reports, one Republican delegate physically accosted Cruz, and Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson refused to meet with Cruz. According to the source, the entire Cruz speech was cleared by the Trump campaign. Paul Manafort, Trumps campaign manager, expressly approved the speech at 4:30 PM ET. The source, who was standing on the convention floor at the time of the speech, said that Trump operatives were present, urging the crowd to boo. This was orchestrated by the Trump campaign to make Senator Cruz a pariah within the party, said the source.

#64 Correct!
I listen to the radio station he is on and he is insufferable about Donald Trump. He is as bad as the resident liberal Brian Whitman.

I was a big Cruz supporter and even I cringed so hard when he delivered the “vote your conscience” line.
The boos were not manufactured. They were real. They were deserved.

#78 Anyone who even thinks about voting for Hillary Clinton is a democrat. Michael Medved can say he is conservative but his statement shows otherwise and that he is comfortable with having a traitor in office.

Cruz needs to take a break, request a private apology from Trump about the Enquirer story saying he was cheating and about his father. Trump should apologize for something that he didn't do?

"After a National Enquirer story late last month quasi-alleged that Ted Cruz has serially cheated on his wife, rival candidate Donald Trump emerged as a fan of the paper, directing our attention to scoops of yore. They were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others,
While the Enquirer was the source, Trump was willing to ride it, giving it credibility. It turned out there was no "there" there. Cruz didn't start the Melania stuff, either, but also seemed to be okay with Mairs doing it.

Plenty of people on the floor last night reported on Twitter that the trump people were whipping the boos. They had seen and approved the speech score hand. The whole thing was planned. Trump is about coverage. Period. This story has dominated every news outlet today. He got what he wanted.

Hey he is what he is... some see ‘saint’ and others see him a deceptive little devil. But his campaign did NOT sent Carly 500 big for nothing early in this campaign season. And then he picks her as his VEEP.... and now has the unmitigated gall to claim Trump maligned his woman... Nasty through and through.

DO not count on there being no there there in the National Enquirer stories on the real man Cruz
The reporter who broke the Edwards story for teh Enquirer stated that by contrast there was no evidence. Everything stopped after two weeks of commotion, except the occasional blog rumor. Cruz has lots of enemies, and just made some more. Still no evidence.

All Trump did is hand Ted some rope. Cruz decided to use it to hang himself all on his own. He had free will, his staff was urging him to endorse, yet he chose to be a petty, arrogant, sore loser. Such will be his legacy.Cruz could have "sandbagged" Trump by endorsing him.
It was a Hobson's choice and he chose wrongly.
To: Dr. Sivana
We do not know the half of Cruz’s enemies... Right now they are quite please to see him attempt to take out Trump... But the instant Cruz gravitates to their sweet spot all manner of dirt will fly on Cruz. Count on it.

So he didn't not start the story, did not write the story, did not say the story was true but he should apologize for what he did say which was the strict truth, that NE does sometimes report accurately.
Maybe it is because I don't understand the "apology culture" where you apologize for everything under the sun but I still don't understand this.

Put yourself in either Cruz' or Trump's position, regarding your wife, father or children. Spreading false rumors suggesting they might be true accusing you of cheating on your wife, or if you want to take the Trump position, suspecting Cruz of being behind Mairs' attacks on Melania.
This is not necessarily "apology culture", in a more gentrified era, it would be the kind of thing that initiates duals.

He did not spread false rumors. He commented on an article or more precisely he commented on the paper that printed the article.

Actually no.
And I am a proponent of bringing back dueling.
Cruz's beef, if indeed he has one, is with the author of the articles. Yet he does not go after that guy. He goes after another person entirely.
And you are demanding that this other person apologize for something he didn't do.
Now THAT is the kind of thing that initiates a duel.

Cruz was of the mind that Trump was behind the Enquirer story. Trump was of the mind that Cruz was behind the Super-Pac's bashing of Melania before the Utah primary.
